Benelli supernova tactical

Thanks, did you have to replace your mag tube, or is that an additional accessory that must be purchased for a Binelli Supernova?
Thanks, again.

Its a Nordic Components +2 extension for the Supernova. It will be too long for a 14" SN however, not sure which one you have. Mine is 18.5"

Hi everyone, just got supernova 14 with collapsible stock and pistol grip. Is there a way to install a flashlight on it without spending 200$ for a new longer rail ?
My other question is how the hell do i remove a trigger assembly ? :). I had a benelli 28" before and after removing 2 pins it all come out but because of a pistol grip its imposible to remove it. Do I have to remove collapsible stock each time ?
thanks

Loosen the stock nut with the holes in it when you get to that stage. I use an allen key or something that fits in it to give it a little leverage to break the nut. Then back the stock off and the trigger gaurd will drop out.

Really like the look and quality of these. How are they to shoot as far as loud and flames with the 14" barrel? Very nice compact package otherwise. Would fit well in a backpack with the stock collapsed. What is the overall length with the stock down?

im curious to know how you guys feel about the 3.5 inch pump as a gun for "tactical duty". am I the only one that short shucks my bennelis?

They are a blast to shoot, literally. I have yet to run any 3.5 inch shells through it yet, the largest i've used is 3 inch and it was a sensory overload. With the stock collapsed the gun is very short, even though it has a short stature the tactical is a very robust shotgun. The gun is 31 inches when completly collapsed.

Its a kick ass pump shot gun, for tactical duty I give it the thumbs up, the supernova handles great when clearing rooms in a house. I really like the cheek weld, coupled with the nice ghost ring sights, it is a tactical shotgun in every sense of the word. That being said, I always take mine skeet shooting and even with the 14 inch barrel it holds its own. As for short stroking, thats operator error i've never jammed mine from short stroking, only once and that was from trying to ghost load it which apparently doesn't work worth a damn.

The nice thing about the Supernova's (at least the tactical models) is that the lifter doesn't "activate" until the slide is fully and completely back to eject the spent hull. So the worst case scenario, is you end up re-loading the spent hull into the chamber and then pulling the trigger and having a "click" then re-trying and cycling a live round back into it.

They were incredibly smart with it's operation, it's just about impossible to jam them by short stroking, which is one of the only jams a pump should be concerned with.

Absolutely, the engineers built a very fine shotgun and I love how it can accomodate the 3.5 inch shells. I could definetly see myself owning a supernova with the long barrel and regular stock for skeet shooting and hunting.

Nordic mag clamp with rail, Vltor offset QD mount, Fenix TK-12R5

Then theres a few options from CDM Gear from SFRC:

Would that mount work with the 14" model? Looks real good.

I agree, their reliability is the stuff legends are made of. Remington cant hold a candle to Benelli, and they only cost a wee bit more than an express barbie tactical. I need a 14" SN and 18.5" M4 to complete my little Benelli tactical fam.

I forgot to put pics up earlier, but this is what I ended up doing for a light mount.

A Magpul MOE rail section, drilled into the pump.

Now I ended up using some little steel threaded inserts (not the MOE ones) and cutting a whole bunch of stuff out of the inside so it functioned, but a MUCH easier way would be just some wood screws after drilling an adequate sized hole, then JB welded it after. Nice and solid mounting point for a light!

A little bit of clean up needs to be done still, but it's solid.

Also, for the stock nut, an M14 Castle Nut wrench (for the flash hider castle nut) works really well, just the cheap 10 dollar one from Brownells.

Hey nutz. I have had mine for 2 years now and have had nothing but fun with it. It was actually a gift from the wife. I too ran into headaches trying to zombie ready equipped this beauty. I've got a messa tax 6 round side saddle as the 8 rounder interfeared with racking the pump back. As for mounting my sure fire x400, I added a supernova 2 shot extension ( yes with a 14inch barell) and have had zero issues. It looks a bit goofy but it doe te job giving me 2 extra rounds and one hell of a laser light combo. I'll add some pics when I figure out how too. You do get a bit of fowling on the mag tub extension but well worth it. I was a bit Leary at first with having the heat from the fired rounds pass right over 2 fresh rounds but countless rounds after I'm still here alive and well. ;)

Hey firesout, i'm really interested in getting the mesa tactical shot shell carrier/rail. How is the 6 round one for racking the pump? It almost looks like it gets in the way thats why im leaning towards the 4 shell carrier. Any input would be appreciated. Also, pics of your gun!

I checked out a SNT 14 two weeks back and was favorably impressed, if were in the market for a short pump this would be it, unless maybe the Ithaca 37 14" became available.

The only knocks I can see is that it doesn't take choke tubes and its expensive enough for being a pump that I would strongly consider getting a Benelli M2 instead.
