M14 Barrel in 260 Remington

I email kieger a couple years ago about this. I lost that email, but they said they do not but gave me the contact of a company in the states that does. Maybe send them a quick message asking the same.
 
True Flite barrels in NZ will copy any barrel you send them and chamber it in any cal. you want..

i was going to do an M14 .260 project a year or so ago but just got sidetracked by other projects.. its still on my mind though

Trueflite make excellent barrels too
 
I do have a .243 barrel for my build and it's a Springfield Armoury Inc barrel. I purchased it from another CGNer who's name eludes me.

Emailed Kreiger, they do not produce this barrel in 260 Remington and do not know who does.

Herron Arms said they can, am emailing back and forth now. Heck they can build the entire rifle from my supplied parts.

Herron Arms in Fisherville, ON.... Hmm... Let us know how the visit goes. I smell an opportunity for them to bring in or make different caliber'ed (but .308 parent cartridge) M1A/ M14 barrels for us....

Basically they said they would only make the barrel as a custom, as they do not do production on that type.

Basically my two options (unconfirmed by them) is to supply a receiver/Bolt and have them barrel and completely chamber it for 260 Remington

Or supply the parts and have them completely build the rifle.

Confirmed though, they will build the barrel custom, but not supply any parts.
 
if things happen and a supplyer is found and you need someone to throw in for another 1 or maybe even 2 i am in id much rather have a short chambered one and build myself
 
Funny this thread just showed up. I did a simialar search for a 7mm-08 M1A yesterday and basically got some negative vibes.

Then I read that the AR-10B has a variant chambered in 300 RSAUM! Got me thinking that if I were to order a Krieger heavy profile 30cal BLANK, maybe I could get it chambered in 300 RSAUM instead of 308....

Decision decisions....

May be its time to add an addition session on Re-barreling in your clinic if it comes true and I bet the 260 headspace gauges will sell like hotcakes!:D

Wow... might need to get Clymer to create a pull through reamer in .260 Rem to accompany my existing .308 pull through reamer for rebarreling M14's, M1 Garands, and M1A's in .308.

Will get back to you on this. But you all must realize, I CAN measure your .260 Rem, .243 Win, 7mm-08 fired cases with my existing RCBS Precision Mic since they ALL come from the same .308 parent case. :D
