Only 250 export models will be made. There are 500 US models being produced; the US models are nicer in my opinion. Why they made a different and less attractive export model is beyond me....
I think the export model is a nicer gun top slide serrations,checkered front strap,steel mainspring housing, series 70,better back sight,I like fish scale slide serrations,improved trigger not as loose as the old model,barrel is bevelled at the end

Did gun shops import all 250? Plus I think the U.S version looks way better.
not sure but i hope i got one, i got charged for it, be pretty pissed if i missed out, hope we both got one.
I think the export model is nicer than the us model. my 2 cents
The export model looks to have more stuff off the E series, which is better IMO.
Personally I won't spend much on 1911s without checkered front straps anymore. The export model has the checkered front strap. You pay a lot to get that done afterwards.

Shooters Choice lists one on their website today. I saw one in person yesterday at Island Outfitters here in Victoria, it is priced $200 more than anyone else which is typical.
The engraving actually looks better in person than it does in photo's, the fish scales or whatever they're called is a big turn off for me, others may like them.
i was holding one yesterday at Target Sports Truck load sale. I gave it back to the sales guy , turn around to talk to my buddy, beeing exited to get the last one in the store and SNAPPPPPPP. Somebody else got it !

Anyone know how many mags are included with the gun?
Comes with 2 mags. One in pistol, and one in the blue s&w box. Also comes with chamber indicator, red cable lock, and bushing wrench. And of course the wooden box with a key
Frontier Firearms still has some. I got mine from them. Its $1339 (less 2% if you pay by EMT)
