Washed, neutral rinsed, tumbled in under 2 hours.

Long story short, Between Rifle,IPSC,Clay sports, I have managed to burn out 1 Dillon large tumbler, and I am on
My second Lyman Turbo 2500.

This gets old fast, shelling out 120.00 each and having them die when you need them most.
So I decided to make a change in my brass prep.
Tumble a whole years worth of pistol (15k) a year of shotgun (30k) and a year of Rifle (2500) in one day.
Brass is washed with Sunlight Dish Detergent, rinsed once with water and 1/4 cup baking soda, then finish rinsed and drained.
From there I load the tumbler with 9000 .40sw cases and 25lbs of walnut.
One hour of tumbling later, all the brass and media is bone dry.

And I found mine at Home Hardware. And after a little haggling, 359.00 +tx.

And when I am finished cleaning brass, I migh just pour a bit of concrete :)

I found that you need enough media to cushion your brass in the
Mixer to avoid damage to the brass.

Made that mistake already, but happily it only munched 4 cases.
Wet tumbling is a great time, but a little messy to do in the house. (hence outside)
Brass looks very clean. Probably 95-90% of what Stainless steel media tumbling
looks like.

Important to do a mild soda bath and rinse after using soap on the brass. I'm not sure but it would appear to retarnish or copper up if you don't.

Cut the baffles down so the action on the brass isn't quite so physical. So you get a rolling rather than kneading motion.

I plan to remove tha baffles and intall a length of link belting. That should boost speed a fair bit.

Ok, so the update now is 22,000 cases washed, neutral rinsed, and tumbled dry.
It has taken 9 hours. But the results are worth it.

I won't have to tumble at all until I run out..... Sometime in August next year I think :)

So out of 22,000 cleaned cases, 5 went to brass heaven :( the action of the paddles, coupled with a 9mm case or two inside screwed the neck beyond repair.

OTOH, there were 15 nickle 45 cases in the mix...
