Mossberg 22 Tactical. 22LR, 25 shot mag

How did you flat top it? I want one but that carry handle is hideous! And the flat top ones are allways sold out everywhere

Flat top model has not been released in Canada.

Your ONLY option for now is to cut up your rifle like myself and others have.

All you need is a dremel and patience, both of which I don't have and I used a sawzall hehe.

I bought one for my wife and put a cheap red dot sight on it. Accurate as hell but have had some issues with failure to load and eject. I think it is a combo of too much oil and ammo. My wife has a hell of a time, as do I, ejecting the mag. You have to use both hands, push down on both releases and then remove one hand and pull out the mag. I am going to strip it right down and buff the ammo feed ramp with my Dremel.

When you guys say tweak the mag, what do you do? I have one mag that is a bugger to load, it gets to about 12 rounds then I have to push in the bottom of a round casing with a chopstick, once it clears down the rest are easy to put in.

All in all I still think it is an OK gun. Just need to #### with it a bit.

How did you replace the carrying handle to that rail on the top?

Nice gun by the way!

X2 on Federal 525 it LOVES IT!.

CCI 40grain solid works amazing.

American Eagle 38gr Copper Plated HP works excellent!

Winchester bulk hollow points, absolute garbage!

I butchered my feed ramp adjusting it for other bullet types and it just does NOT like flat nosed ammo.

Round nose and anything coming to a decent point feeds really well.

I fire around 300-600 rounds every day or every other day with my Mossberg Tactical at the range and only clean it every 3-4k rounds.

I get maybe 10 FTE's out of 1000 rounds so that's pretty damn good for a rimfire in my books.

I do get the rare FTL but alas is operator error and even the manual says don't bump the magazine or anything while firing, my bad.

Here's what I have done to mine.

Flat topped it myself, removed the front sight, flipped the RIS as lower factory rail was slightly undersized. 3-9x Redfield Revolution Scope, NcStar Light/Laser combo and folding vertical fore grip.

Still need to shorten my flat top rail to proper length then clean up the body plastic around it.

Here is one of my targets.

Federal 525 36grain hollow points
17yard indoor.
Standing position, 3 25 round mags fired as fast as I can.

Paint job is on the way when I get all the plastic body work complete.

BACK ON TOPIC.

When are you expecting the back order to come in??

same problem with the mags, hard to load... any fixes?

Not sure what others have done by tweaking the mag, I super-glued black felt to them... Doesn't seem to do much. I find even with this, I have to give the bottom of the mag a good "SLAP" to insert and eject it. I've only had this out to the range once and didn't get that many rounds through it. Don't use sub-sonics on it though as they will fail to eject constantly on this gun.

I put about 500 rounds through mine on the weekend, and only had three or four of FTFs and FTEs. Seemed split about 60/40 with the Winchester whitebox and some CCI Mini mags that I had - but that was about the split for the rest of the ammo, to (200 mini mags, 300 whitebox).

The magazine was a PITA to load a few times, partly because the loader that came with it kept bending and partly because the rounds got stuck around the 12 round mark. I'll order the babyUpLula since that should aid in the loading.

I've had terrible luck with hollow points, no problems with the cheapest of round nose ammo eg Remington thunderbolts, Winchester
Here's what I've done with mine

I'll pick up a box of round noses to try next week. I'm going to pick up a Bushnell TRS-25 red dot as well.

Where did you get the rail riser on yours? I can't seem to find shorter ones locally.
