What's the Appeal of the Cz/Vz?

Lets see... in no particular order...

  • They are not politically correct
  • They will freak most 'anti'
  • They will scare most 'Liberal'
  • They are fun to shoot
  • The are cheap to feed
  • They can be used for hunting
  • They're a reliable/proven design
  • There are many accessories available for them...
  • Accessories are reasonably priced
  • We buy them because we can :D
  • They are a better 'investment' than Facebook stocks :ar15:

THIS!!!!!

Couldn't have said it better.

The VZ 58 was the first rifle I bought, I finally had some time to get to the range yesterday (not long enough though), Damn it was a blast! It seemed fairly accurate with the stock iron sights, but I will definitely be upgrading down the road after some research. The only thing that drove me crazy was the 5 round limit, all I could think of is how much fun it would be to let loose 30 rounds at a time.

Sweet baby Jesus we are back to the "trust your life on it" discussion.

If you can't trust your life to a firearm that is based on one of the most successful, battle proven assault rifles in history, you most likely drank to much tacticoolaid and need to detox . I suggest you cash in your tavors/vectors and $4K AR's and buy a gun that should it jam, is still solid enough to beat someone to death.

So buy a Mosin :D

Reading these replies has been quite enjoyable! It sounds like I'll have to track someone down with a Vz... ;)

Just Doooooo it . I'm a girl who was pained by the recoil at first and now that I've learned stance etc from some cool people , I love it . Every time I shoot it I like it more , which I NEVER foresaw . It's just a ridiculously fun , loud aggressive looking , " anti " annoying , ridiculous house on fire . It's comparably cheap , built like a tank , massively accessorable ( I'm pretty sure that's not even a word ) , and makes my highly educated , art house snobby friends  . I won't ever sell mine . Just get someone on this thread to loan you one to shoot . I would if you were in my area .
Cheers
Dana

This is my old girl with adapter. The new girl is a little more high speed and less stylish.

I love this gun. It's great to train with because it non res and I love AK ergos. Very fast and robust. Also those hot mlitary x39 rounds punch through anything and I have a small #### so that works for me.

Maybe your username should have been "raisin nuts" instead of avocado...then you might not of felt the need to proclaim your shortcomings in the midst of an otherwise interstingly informative read.

The VZ rocks!!!!!!!!!!! It was my first non rim fire rifle. I love the look and feel of this military rifle. It may not be the most accurate but it is dead reliable. I have never had a malfunction in thousands of rds. The 7.62 is a great cartridge, it has enough kick that you know you are shooting a man's gun, LOL and it is very cheap to shoot. Blaxsun if you are around the GTA I would be happy to let you take mine out for a try.

Oh no the nuts are mad big. I'm actually worried that they have some kinda growth. Maybe its just an optical illusion and the peen is a normal size? Who knows. I predict that the next post will be this:
