Ruger 1911 Impression

Just got back from the range with mine for the first time and it functioned flawlessly with mecgar, unkown brand, and factory ruger 7 rd mags. I too need practice with it, seems to be shooting a little low and left at 25 yds ... but that could also be me as its my first .45. Only thing I changed on mine was the stainless flat plain mainspring housing and some black 10-8 grips.

Personally, I'd like to see Ruger produce a nice blued SR1911.

Blued would be great. Also, I quite like nitron SR1911 that ArmaCoat can do:

I shoot mine the way it came out of the box..very acurate at 25 yrds and great groups no matter what ammo I have tried..
A little over 750 rounds with no failures of any kind and a whole lot of holes in the middle of the paper.

I have one, its my first .45, and its totally worth the money. It feels good, looks good, and shoots good. Highly reccomend it. I got totally lucky one night and picked it up off the EE for 700 and change, shipping included, to someone who had never fired it...Its had great reviews and, according to some US .45 afficiado's - for a production .45 in the land of the big .45 - its a well made handgun.

got mine looked great felt great but the triger was so loose that it jingled when you shook it side to side and i could not get over it so i sold it before shot one .Called ruger they said that when it was casted the frame that is that the triger slot was too wide and their is nothing they could do .Maybee i am just spoiled with high end 1911 but i like them tight and fitted properly , so i will wait for a refined one by Ruger

yeap...looks awesome...
Just got off the phone with Wanstall and have one of the coming...should be here Friday :D...my first 1911:redface:
Just to throw a complement ...those guys are just super to deal with :D ...best ever compare to some local stores I'd visited today
I will post my first impressions as soon as I get to the range with it ;)
I'm pumped :D

LOL, I was about to order one from Wanstall yesterday but forgot my RPAL card at home and didn't have my number handy. I couldn't decide on the SR1911 or my first preference of a Sig 1911. Waited too long and now they're all sold out. Guess it was meant to be. Congrats! :p

Sold out ??
I just got off the phone with them about 1hr ago ... I guess I'm lucky ;)
I was going to get the GSG 1911 and Mossberg 715T today...but for price of both of them I think this is muuuuuuuuuch better buy :D
Anyway ...the store I went today to get them...wellll..the dude was an a@@ ....even I'd spend hundreds of $$ on amo at his store ...he would just ignore me , I guess $900 sell wasn't a big deal for him lol...wow..nice ...Wenstalls...over the phone...wow....all my money will go to those guys from now on...best buying experience ever :D
As for Mossberg 715T....weeeeellllll...I did handle this rifle today....and I will wait till I find someone that can get HK416D in.......sorry fans of Mossberg rifle...but I'd seen better build paint ball guns than this baby

LOL, so you're the guy who bought the last one! Now I can't decide if to try track down a SR1911, a Sig 1911XO or Nitron or get a Beretta 92FS. I kinda want a 1911 to see what all the hoopla is about with the 1911 fans which is my dilemma.. do I spend $700ish on a Ruger or spend the extra and get a Sig if I can find one I like. lol

Hey Trinimon...sorry buddy ...track one down...from what I'd seen in the reviews and tests ...no 1911 can touch it for the $$$$$....make note...$$...there are for sure better 1911..I'm not delusional..but for the amount of cash you have to spend on one...nothing can touch it .
I just need one for my collection ;).....amo is pricey ...but I shoot IPSC in 40 cal...sooo , just for once in a while trips to the range it should be o.k....unless my buddy will convince me to turn it into a race gun lol
