Shorten PAL Approval Times

So after receiving my letter yesterday I called this morning at 0905 by 0935 the site was updated saying my listen ce has been approved and issued. I asked if there was any requirement for interviews for myself or my references and she said no only if applying for a RPAL.

Finally me and my references got calls for the interviews and my license got issued :)
Funny thing is, that until now I can't check the data on-line ("No information, please check on a later date"). So always check with the office via the phone. Wondering now, how long it will take to receive in the mail.

Once it has been printed, Canada Post's service standard for lettermail is 4 business days nationwide. (Except for the northern regions)

Your application has been processed and your licence has been issued. If you have not received your licence within 2 weeks please contact the Canada Firearms Centre Toll Free number. (1-800 731-4000)

28 days EXACTLY! August 21 received online. September 18th today it was updated. Do i have a horseshoe up my ass?:D

Arrived in mail today sept 26th. Received auguest 21st. That makes it 35 days total:)

I sent in the RPAL application by regular mail Aug 23, shows received Aug 28. Showed up on the website Sep 17, called to do interviews Sept 25 and I missed it and they left a message. Called in Sept 27 (today) to do interviews, one reference has already been interviewed, the second called in after I was interviewed. Checked online tonight and it is showing issued. I wasn't expecting it to show issued so quickly after doing the interviews.

Alright, I sent my PAL/RPAL application using expresspost and it was received and signed for on August 23. Thanks to this thread I did not wait to receive my stamped test results first and got my 28 days started earlier. Now I passed the tests on August 15 and was wondering, in Ontario, how long they usually take to get returned. I'm asking because I'm leaving the country next week for a month and was hoping to have them before I left. My application isn't online yet but since it was sent in minus the stamped tests I assume I'll receive a request for more info while I'm gone. Does anyone know how long they wait before cancelling an application if there is no response to their additional info request? Thanks for any insight and I'll try and update my application status as a reference for future CGN users.

Update:

Faxed in test results on the 26th of Sept and did my phone interview the next day. My references called in today and a few minutes later on line status was changed to issued. Total time from acceptance to issuing of license was 36 days. They were very prompt with my entire process. I'm sure if I was in town to fax my results in as soon as they were returned to me I would have been approved sooner. I guess I just have to see how fast they will issue my card and send it out. I'll let you guys know as soon as it arrives. Thanks though for all the info and tips during the appplication process!

Received my pal and rpal in mail today :) Not bad, as they received my papers on aug. 23.

I was lucky as well: my references interviewed a day earlier than me (I missed the call dammit) and about 30 minutes after my interview the next morning, online status was changed. I am hoping that my shiny, new card arrives in the mail soon!

I see a bunch are happening faster than mine (and i believe Ontario was usually faster with theirs.) Im trying not to be impatient, but....

Course in early Aug
sent application 20 Aug
application arrived 23 Aug
Credit card charged 12 Sep
interview - 1 reference and myself 19 Sep
other interview 20 Sep

My status still says in progress. Wish it was like the others who got issued same day as their final interview.

Is there a "recommended" timeframe for checking with them?

Im a p.a.l. holder and upgraded to a r.p.a.l. did the test, sent the application to Miramichi, but left out the fee on purpose.
Because they will send out the letter saying missing info. what I did was wait to see it online saying in progress and knew they would issue the letter saying missing info and called them. this forced them to open up my file to add my visa number to it and was told to disregard the letter that had not even arrived here yet, instantly transfered and did interview.
kinda interesting....

my pal was issued online last wednesday after waiting 4 months since arriving in NB. BC CFO had to do a background check which was 3 months of the wait, since someone else with the same name has a criminal history. So ya there ya go 4 month wait in bc, my brother in law is in the same boat as he had some issues with depression years ago. Looking forward to goin to the bush!

Call them and ask :) I didn't have "In progress" online message. Always "no data available" And only by calling I've got progress information...They also received my info on Aug. 23 and I enjoy my license since this Monday (Oct. 01) already

Aug 23 mailed application.
Aug 28 arrived at CFC.
Sept 17 shows up on website.
Sept 25 CFC phoned for interviews, I missed them and they left a message. I picked it up and called them back on Sept 27.
Sept 27 Status on website changes to license issued.
Oct 4 RPAL arrives in the mail.

This was upgrading a non restricted POL to RPAL. I thought that was good service, I only called in once they left a message for me to do the interview, otherwise I didn't contact them.
