Nostalgic Hunting Pictures

Jallstar, where abouts in Nor. Ontario?

We are about an hour outside Fort Francis..we have our trap line plus a sizable chunk of land that we recently split up and sold most of it, although I retained my portion and I'm planning on building a cabin. I haven't worked the lines for a while, but my cousin lives up there full time working the lines and pretends to be a bushman. I live in Barrie so I only get up there maybe twice a year, but whenever I do usually work on clearing trees for offroad/snowmobile trails in the hope I will get my cabin built and get some tags up there to fill my freezer.

Here's an old button hunting license from 1929. It pins on to a coat or shirt.

I received this from my dads friend who had found it in the attic of his family home when he was a kid. He saved it for a long time and gave it to me a couple years ago.

He wasn't a hunter but thought I'd enjoy having it. It's a nostalgic piece for me now - he passed away shortly he gave it to me. It's cool to have this piece of history.

All hunting camps are not the textbook variety of sunshine and mountain beauty.
Here, a young H4831 gets out of his wet clothes. The Native boy was brought along to look after the pack horse, and he kept the fire going while we were out hunting caribou.
In front of the boy is our leanto tent, which, with the heat reflected into it, kept it a warm, dry place to eat and sleep. It is imperative to get your wet clothes off and dried, after getting soaking wet from hunting.
