CZ Shadow vs Tanfoglio Stock III for IPSC production

Is the trigger that bad out of th box?

For a guy who has been shooting Classic division with a 1911 that has a -2lbs trigger the first pull on that Tanfoglio is a killer! lol I let some other IPSC top gun shoot it last night and it was agreed, awesome gun, trigger needs work. I am sure it will get better even without a trigger job and I was also pleased no malfunctions in 100 rounds last night with a brand new gun.

Chris take a look at the Beretta base pads. Way cheaper than the CZ pads and work just as well. I put them on my Tan mags and they work just fine.

Take Care

had my new stock2 9mm out to the range to today after I had a minor brain fart with a part. Trigger is where my old stock2 trigger was..reset is excellent...DA smooth. I am guesstimating 7.8lbs DA,...2.7lbs SA.

I have a DD in 16". It is well made and feels good in the hands.

One thing to consider is that if you are going to shoot a rifle off hand (not rested) then you want some weight in the barrel so it does not wave around so much. inertia is your friend.

Haha wrong thread I presume?

So I took my Tanfoglio to the range today for a little bit. Would have been a good idea to do this before IPSC last night. I was 6" low at 7m and off the paper completely at 25m. I had to turn the rear LPA sight 11 clicks. Here is a vid of IPSC night last night. It's painful to watch the steel portion!...

I really can hit steel! lol Here is a level II IPSC match I shot two weeks ago. There are three round plates in front of each other in the middle so I am not missing those two shots. The steel in this video was about 5m further than last night so I need to post this for my pride. :)

Some Tanfoglio #### from today. Painting the front sight with fluorescent paint seems as good as the fiber but I am still ordering one....

Get the Eric Front sight...the thinnest you can get. I actually like the Henning front sight as I have one my gunkote stock2,..as well as my Limited Custom. ERics sight was easier to put on...it is a toss up between the two. I have the red case as well....nice touch...very flashy..LOL.

My CZ mags are easily the worst magazines I own, and are the second most expensive (2nd to my Accuracy International mags). They have needed feed lips adjusted on more than one occasion, they get surface rust, and the perceived strength of the springs has reduced over their life.

I would not re-buy them.

I agree. My CZ mags had the finish rubbed off in area's after 1 day use and they do get surface rust easily. I would never buy these mags again. I tried some Tanfoglio mags and they are way better. My Sig and Beretta mags are still in excellent condition after years of use.

Thanks. You are the third person to recommend the Eric one and I don't see a reason to drill a hole if there is no need. I do prefer the thinner front fiber tubes as well.

While I am waiting for my Eric Grauffel Extreme 2.0 front sight and his aluminum grips to come in I painted my grips with black Krylon and a clear coat. :) I know many will think it's a travesty to paint the walnut but I like this look better for now....

Make sure you don't shoot at the match(Production Division) with this grip or you'll pumped to open :p

Oooops! The price of being silly. There really is nothing that I could find which specifically says you cannot paint your grip panels. Can anyone point me to the specific rule that prohibits this?

I know you can have custom grips (agreed that's not the same as painting) as per the January 2012 rules...

17.3 Aftermarket grip panels which match the profile and contours of the OFM standard or optional grip panels for the approved handgun and/or the application of tape on grips (see Appendix E3) are permitted. However, rubber sleeves are prohibited.
