In the 60's when I was in the army our basic armament was the FN C1 rifle. I am curious whether these were ever available as surplus and whether they would be restricted or prohibited. If they are available I assume the pinned mag rule would apply.
I don't think any military ones were sold as surplus. The OPP ones went to England and some came back.
I bought mine new from the Longbranch arsenal. came with mags in sealed plastic, bayo and grenade launcher.
Quick reply is they are prohib and not available to us non 12.x shmoes :-(

I dont have a Canadian made one, but I did get an Indian Ishapore 1A1 long before they went prohibited.
Now the feds wont even issue a permit to transport it to the range, so it sits unused in my room.
It is a pity. Guess maybe they figure they are too easy to convert to FA.. Thanks for the reply.
Had an L1A1, and a safety sear. wish I had put it back in, as a reload fired out of battery wrecking the thing. I used to hunt with it before it went restricted/prohib
just a tease![]()
