Many people number their mags with a little sticker on the bottom so that they can isolate problem mags. Try that first as it is the easiest thing to do, and see how the mags perform.

I am STILL trying to work the bull#### out of my Para.
So far here are the list of issues:
- Feeding problems (with multiple different mags and ammo, including some good chip mcCormicks)
- Out of spec light rail (Won't fit any standard light out there like the surefire X300's and Streamlight TLR's)
- 300rnds through and my extractor claw has snapped off
- There was a deep divet in the slide locking lever which prevented the slide locking lever from engaging the slide and keeping it open after last round, and difficult to use the lever to close the slide.
- The mags were pure junk. The springs were extremely weak, and had to be replaced.

I am sure there are more issues. Save yourselves the hassle. I will not deal with Para for anything again. Pure junk. I have left more useful #### in my toilet.
 
very sad that Para would not fix these issues...are at the very least...check them before they left the factory. I would be extremely dissapointed if I bought one of these and found them to be in the condition they were in...I bought an STI Lawman.
 
I've had no problems with mine, granted mine is the single stack .45 - not the .40 or the 9mm that people seem to have issues with. Mine runs flawless, I've put 600 round through it.
The coating does scratch easy, so I try to keep it felt-padded holstered. The whole front end does get all black after a session at the range, but cleans easily.

All my 5 mags drop free, and feed reliably. The light rail though...My TLR1 don't fit - granted it has the Glock Key. the rail slot is much much shallower than a spec'd rail.
Mine wasn't made in Canada though, I checked.
 
Mine was made in Pineville, NC, single stack .45.
My mags drop free.
All the springs but 1 were so weak I had to stretch em a bit. Still feeds like ****. Tried some ACT mags. Feeds like ****. Tried Chip McCormick mags. Feeds like ****.
I am sending them an email again, so we will see if I can get anywhere. But if its like anyone elses experiences I am not holding my breath.

I received my Para SF-45-A earlier this year, I found it very accurate but there are some feeding problems. Fit and finish was good, controls crisp and the trigger is nice. I tried various ammo with it but my best results were my hand loads. (230gr RN with an OAL of 1.24"). As compared to my Norinco NP30 (double stach para clone) it doesn't come close, the Norinco doesn't have any feeding problems, but is still a Norinco. I will keep the Para and play with it.
 
I got a single stack .45 ACP.

My single issue was that the front sight was too high so I was shooting 12" below POA at 15 meters. Replaced the front sight with a .150" one and it now shoots where I aim.

Besides that I've never had any feeding issues, no magazine-related problems or anything else people have been complaining about. Nothing broke or snapped. It's accurate as hell. The finish wears off easily but mine's not sitting in a museum so I couldn't give less of a crap.

I got lucky. ;)

I think mine is one of the late model ones so maybe they worked out the QC?
I shoot mainly Norc .45 230gn and my #### hasn't fallen off yet.

Hey Mac, how are you doing? I have been over here in Sandland since I retired last year doing the contracting thingy... life is good.
 
They are great-looking guns, but from what I hear and read, they are a bit over-priced, and their quality isn't all that it's supposed to be. Do a bit more research on them before you actually take the plunge. Not telling you to stay away, but make sure you're 100% sure before you do. I wanted one for myself as well, but ended up changing my mind...

Just my 2 cents...
 
If you want a pretty show piece and you served overseas and want one for sentimental value then by all means grab one. If you want a good shooting 1911 don't get one. I had one and i wanted to use it occasionally as well as own a commemorative piece from my deployment, it was the worst pistol I ever handled with. Nothing worked on he things and dealing with Para was a horrid experience. Unless you're a veteran that wants one as a commemorative piece I don't understand why anybody would ever buy one. It is aesthetically gorgeous though.
