hi I am considering a rifle that looks like an ar-15 or m-16, but I see that they are all restricted.

are there any rifles that are like the ar-15 / m-16, but are non-restricted?

why do you I want one? just one of those things I wanted as a kid... :)

(hopefully getting a cz858 or csa vz58 as my 2nd gun)

thanks

Well iirc technically it's the ar180B that's non restricted, I don't own one so I don't really know what's the difference.

Other than that... All I can think of off the top of my head is xcr or acr but those arent really ar looking rifles.

Similar how? Do mean looks? Or function. If you mean looks then the ar180b is really the only black rifle that looks like a ar15. Maybe the xcr couldbe called similar in appearance. If you mean function then there is numerous rifles to look at. By the way the ar 180b is not sold new anymore. You will need to look for a used one.

looks.

if I can find a reasonably priced ar180b that'd be really cool

What's the going rate on a 180b? Under 1500? Lol op should check the pricing on a KAC or H&K or noveske etc..

Guess you wouldn't be interested in the xcr or acr based on price either.

What's your maximum budget for the rifle itself?

wanted to spend 1000-1200$... but dang... these rifles are expensive! I didn't think it would be THAT much..

i see tons of ar-15s going for 1000$-1200$ on the EE.. i dont got the license though!

I see the su-18 + stock and thanks for the suggestion! it looks nice but i want the real deal!

I also see acr's and xcr's on the EE for what, 2100$+???? dang thats a lot of money but I am thinking of these guns as investments.

I am thinking of buying a cz858 with 700 rounds through it - is that still a good gun for 600 or should i buy a new one for a little more

edit: i am looking for a ar-180b - how much do these go for? i see them in the US for 700$ but i find it highly difficult to import one -- I have a law degree, looked into importing it - the paperwork to import one individually doesn't seem to bad but to get one is difficult because only US citizens can buy guns in the US unless i am mistaken cheers

Re Import of rifles from the US - Get in touch with Clay @ Prophet River Firearms (CGN business member, linked above in the far right side).

Re ACR. They currently are only available off the shelf as Restricted rifle. As they aren't AR-variant rifles you have the possibility of having them re-barreled (18.5" minimum), verified and then reclassified as NR. I would see a used (still restricted) go for $2,500 and not $2,100. The XCR would be cheaper on the wallet.

AR-180b I have 0 experience with them. There's a stick on them at the top of this page. I would definitely expect them to go for quite a bit more than $700.

Good luck with your search.

Thank you ben,

I contacted Clay - if there are a few people interested we should buy do a group order of ar-180b from the US if we can locate that many.

I located on the Michigan for 700$, 92% condition says ad w/o magazine... +250$-350$fee = around 1000$ for an ar-180b? or am i being too optimistic
