Safe Storage Pistol

Perfect thanks everyone. Last question anyone have any recommendations for a case that will close with a trigger lock soft or hard for transport to the range?

Thanks T

lots of options out there.
i have a few plano pistol hard cases, they range from $8-$25 at lebaron and are some of the most commopnly uses cases.
pelican cases are great, but they arent cheap.
if you are bringing one pistol to the range there is also a pistol bag with lockable zippers on it.
the thing i like about soft cases is they dont look like you are putting guns in your car, neighbors dont pay attention to bags that look like they are laptops.
although, my neighborhood is very close, and there are lots of avid shooters here so it isnt a issue for me, although it may be for some.

ive even seen some guys use red toolboxes to put their pistols and ammo in. i may start doing the same for my ammo.

Believe it or not, carrying a firearm in a case that doesn't appear to be a firearm case is illegal, particularly if you are doing it for the express purpose of making it seem like you are not carrying a firearm. This has recently been discussed in a few other threads.

Pretty stupid, huh? Especially considering you have to carry a restricted in an opaque case. You'd practically have to write "gun" on the outside of the case to comply with the law. I'm serious.

well thats dumb...ive seen lots of guys even turn guitar cases into a gun case...i forget the company off hand but i even saw one with a foam cutout to fit 1 AR, 1 pistol and cutouts for the mags. i thought it was awesome and reminded me of Desperado!

but the bag i was thinking of says "PLANO GUN GUARD" right on the front...so it should be fine then either way...i think i paid $11 @ lebaron

found the video about the guitar case designed for guns....obviously its a us company and different lasw there, but sill a cool idea.

When I kept ammo in my safe with my guns I had an ammo box purchased from cabelas and would pad lock the ammo box. Then the ammo is locked seperate from the firearms in the safe.
