I haven't shot a Maxis but I did look at it and was really impressed with the gun itself. Any B gun would make most any shooter happy. I cant wait to get down the list of my "to buy" guns where it says Beretta

. Out of all my shotguns right now my favorite to shoot is my 28" VersaMax. Im up to 3000+ rounds and haven't had any of the quality issues I read on here all the time about the VersaMax. With one exception, the mag tube nut has come loose on my gun after about 25-30 rounds. I have since sovled the problem myself with a bit of pipe thread sealer tape around the threads. I know Remington has a new style mag tube nut for the VersaMax that has fixed the problem on their end. I actually wonder if the people who comment on the VersaMax actually own one or are jumping on the "it's cool to bash Remington" bandwagon. At any rate, I own the versa max and love it to death. I posted some vids in another thread but I guess it doesn't translate well in the search feature lol. Here is the link again for the OP.
I'm sorry but remington deserves to be bashed most times. I have been shooting their semi's since the 60's and love remington still have many and tried every new model they released in shotguns except the versamax .Quality started to drop off around 86 and I first experienced problems with my new 1187 bought the year after which split a bolt after it's 1st 13 rounds. Ok we fixed it, moved on and no problems with it after so when the 1187 super mag came out picked up a new one. What a piece of junk could never get it to cycle correctly, then a kit came out etc etc. Then we hear about this new shotgun which was going to be their flag ship the NEW Versamax. Ok we will give it a try, all set to order in one and bang you are hit with this
cancel your order and pick up a new winx3.

I think rem created their own bandwagon and it is going to take many more positive feedbacks like yours to get even us old die hard rem fans to pick one up and give it a chance again. Just my 2 cents. take care
