Remington shotguns are fine to shoot steel with a full choke as long as it's #2 shot or smaller, and in your case, 2 3/4 shells. You'll eventually get shot-lines in the choked part of the barrel, but that's no big deal. I did this for years before I could afford a new barrel.
Remington seems to have changed their tune on this lately but not sure why?? Agree at one time they had that posted everywhere but not now. Any ideas??
