Help me choose my next hunting rifle

Since you didn't give much to work with, I say get a Blaser 93 in a 7mm or 6.5 mm of your liking! How about a Dakota in 375 H&H?

Don't tell him to get a Blaser 93. Once he owns one, all other bolt rifles seem.... plain and lacking. Like me, now he needs really expensive toys to try to match the quality, and you still never quite get there.... Just sayin.

There's a very reasonably priced M 70 featherweight in the EE right now that I don't need. That I don't need. That I don't need. That I don't...

I love my Sako A7 and Browning Micro A-Bolt and my youngest son just bought an X-Bolt, all are in 7mm-08. What a fantastic cartridge. (thanks Kelly). I just know you will love it, too. But, be sure to choose a quality rifle and glass. Don't let anybody talk you into some bargain buster crap, it just ain't worth it!
OP, if you have Tikka in the running, I'm sure you would like it a lot! My oldest son has a T3 and loves it. It's a real shooter!

For a rifle on the mid/low end of price try looking at the Weatherby Vanguard S2 in 7 08. I bought one torqued the mount screws properly and she prints 3/4" with 140 gr bullets of all types all day long.

43 gr of IMR4064 under 140 ballistic tip makes for a very nice deer load out to what ever range you feel comfortable shooting at.

BTW love the 7-08 very mild recoil and great velocity.

Do you want a piece of furniture or do you want a tool for hunting? If you want to get a tough, accurate lightweight hunting rifle that gets the job done, I like Tikka t-3's. If you want a piece of furniture that looks pretty and and serves a dual role as a status symbol, I would look at a Sako or a Browning.

LOL! My X-Bolt stalker is the least "pretty furniture" firearm I own, but it is VERY utilitarian. I also think that if I was looking for a "status" symbol, Browning wouldn't even be on that list at all.
