The store won't work well with email, they may not read it or worse ignore it. I think you'll have to use the phone where you can press your case better. I also think you should consider exposing the store's name and location on this forum. We'd all like to know and if you tell this to the store it should give you some leverage. Keep us posted - we'll all learn form this.

I wouldn't be so quick to out the store just yet. Call first and speak to someone. As Sana Fe mentioned, not all stores are good at checking emails etc. If they won't take it back or at least exchange it for another that doesn't rattle... well, ya know how CGN love a sh!t storm... for the most part. :)

Hey guys...just made short video...sorry about quality ..just a cellphone camera...and had no camera man lol
First is slide to frame...then trigger and grip safety
Do you find this acceptable ????

daRRski is that the slide rattling or the grip safety?

Does it rattle if you hold it by the grip and shake it?

Mine had a lightly sprung grip safety and would rattle. I bent the appropriate prong on the 3 leaf spring out a little more and the problem was solved.
Other than this very minor problem the pistol was excellent and still is after approx 800 rounds.

That's good to hear and good advice too. I think it's the slide. In the last few seconds of the video he appears to hold the pistol in his left hand (watch the shadow) covering the grip safety and it still rattles badly. Also, his IPSC buddies (hard to please - admitted) hated the piece - it has to be the slide.

Oops, just looked at that video shadow again. He may have gripped just below the grip safety in a very low grip.

This is just crazy/nuts. How can we resolve the disparities with this pistol from a well-known firearms manufacturer.
If this were happening with their single action magnum revolvers or rifles they would have faded to obscurity long ago - yet their stock thrives (NYSE - RGR) $15 to $45 in the last two years.
You do the math!

I want one of those ....I really love the looks , feel and price of this gun...it just sucks a@@ I got a lemon.
In the video I was trying to show 3 things that drive me nuts with this firearm..and have poor fit...first few seconds is the slide , then sloppy trigger and grip safety that has play side to side...I could live with the trigger and grip safety...but the play in the slide scares me lol

O.K...just got of the phone with the store...told me to put it in the box and ship it back..they will look after reversing the registration....cool...

So far those guys were great to deal with...purchase and return wise...have to wait to see if everything goes smooth with refund since they have 0 stock and I'd declined warranty repair on it
The whole ordeal sucks tho...because I do like the gun ...just too bad I got lemon

Good stuff! Looks like that store did good on their customer service. Yeah, that's like night and day difference between your sloppy SR1911 and the ones in the video links from Santa Fe! Now if I found a tight fitting one like the Santa Fe videos, I'd buy it. The grip safety is an easy fix. The trigger I can probably swap out or live with but a sloppy slide, yeah, forget that.

Hey daRRski, I hear a Sig 1911 STX calling your name from Wanstalls or was that the evil brother, Sig 1911 Nightmare??!! lol

Yup, the folks at Wanstalls are great to deal with. I have a Sig 1911 Target Nitron on the way and should arrive on Monday! Can't wait to get my paws on 'em!

Wow!

It surprises me and it doesn't.

Last year I called them on a Wilson. I spoke to a very fine lady and I was impressed with her candor and forthrightness. If they help you (do not go the warranty route) it would be completely consistent with my impression in my phone conversation. I was impressed enough to "want", to deal with them. Not on the Wilson of course -- geeeez, (the money), but in the future if I wanted their product. It is good, that they treat you right.

I'm surprised they, "let your lemon out the door". However, as a friend of mine would say, "Let's try to put the best light on this". They can't tear down every pistol and provide a personal "guarantee" [as opposed to warranty]. But, they are doing the right thing now and that's great to know about them!

I will remember this story and wanstalls.

Please keep us updated - right here.

Thanks for sharing!

Right on, to all you said! But that STX has a shiny top!
Is yours a Sig 1911 or a Sig 1911 Traditional?

Please keep us posted.

If you are looking at STI, buy from Armco. Gunner checks everything over, does a sweet trigger job and some smoothing and polishing. You won't get a lemon guaranteed.

HI There re; ruger loose. Yea shot and own a bunch of single action rugers. Most are loose ,shoot ok last forever. A few shoot very well and a pair of flat top anniversarys are very tight and slick out of the box. Find a good one re-sell the rest. You got t0 CHERRY PICK.
