Got Malaria covered?. That one, either falciparum or vivax, can be very hard on a northern white man. Nearly put me in the ground, back in the nineties.

Yep got $200 worth of Malarone for malarial prophalactic. Always go see the Doc and get the essentials before I head out anti malarials and T3s.
Just back from Wall-mart for last minute stuff, didn't have moleskin or duct tape and needed a new duffle as I just noticed the last baggage handlers managed to remove a wheel off my bag.
Got another 3 1/2 hours til Superstore closes so give me your ideas.
Already picked up a bottle of nice Chianti cause I know I'm going to have a tough time going to sleep tonight, I'm as excited as a 16 year old in a wh@re house!!

I think 60 rounds should be sufficient, chances are I will only get to use my rifle for lion so 1 or 2 should do the job, or 3 or 4............
Phillipe, I will do that as I have a day in Calgary so I'll pick up some note books and pencil crayons for the pickaninnies. (SA and Zim term for the little black children)
Boomer74, I don't use a range finder on these hunts as almost all shots are under a 100 mtrs and for the odd longer one I just guesstimate and confer with the PH. Nice thing with the 375 H+H it doesn't matter if it's 50 mtrs or 250 mtrs, with my 200 mtr sight in I'm good to 300 mtrs with little to no holdover. Multitool is a good idea and is going in the duffle as I type.

Last I was in Tanzania, the 100 company logo'd pens were all given out during the first week cross country. Plenty smiles came of them.
I always carry a bottle of 99% rubbing alcohol to wash my feet and boot insoles in when they start to get rank. Not sure how bad African foot fungi is but I assume it's nasty. I also know people who used a bit of blue stone (copper II sulphate) in their boots to ward against this problem.
It might be too late, but head-lamps are always better than flashlights.
They free up both hands, and shine exactly where you look...
J'm back and all went fairly well
Got lion on 2nd day in Kalahari, moved east to north central SA and took 2 zebra and 2 gfiraffe and mountain reedbuck. Then off to Congo and took 3 duikers, Peters, blue and yellow back and a beautiful 29 1/2" Bongo. unfortunately didn't get an opportunity at sitatunga or dwarf red buff.
Still at my acreage in BC so can't post photos yet but will be sure to do that as soon as I get back to Yukon, if anyone is interested.
