PDW builds - Lets see them, and share results

The brake is made from precision ground 4140HTSR and then nitride treated for enhanced corrosion resistance. We found the brake to be very effect on SBR/PDW applications. A linear brake, by nature, is not going to outperform a normal ported brake; however, it is still effective and MUCH less annoying to shoot.

Absolutly Beautiful, only thing I would have different would be the Magpul furniture in a Tan/FDE colour.
 
Just finished my new 10.5" project and thought I would ask some advice as to what to do next. Should I have this checked out by someone before shooting it? This is my first build.

No, I didn't test the Allen Gun Works one.

NOTE: These types of devices can be used on SBR's, but you will likely erode them very fast if you do. I'm not sure how many rounds Allen Gun Works put through their unit, but even with 4140 steel it may erode quickly.
 
Dlask XB1 or Noveske Flash Pig. Just remember to clean them frequently.

IMO, with AR barrels that short, recoil reduction and flash suppression take a back seat to mitigation of muzzle blast. PDW's they may be, but In a closed average sized room they are horrendously loud and disorienting.

We put 500 rounds through with just plain parkerized finish and there were no signs of erosion. Erosion was a concern though, that's why we took the 4140HTSR and added an extra layer of protection with a nitride treatment.

Haven't tried the pig of dlask. Same principle, different design. I did most of the testing on mine with a 7.5 barrel and I can say for a fact it is a lot let annoying than the rifle S&J was firing beside me with a 16" barrel and gill type brake.

Nitriding is a GOOD plan, we now nitride most of of our muzzle devices simply for the fact that they last up much longer.

Best thing is, this one is in 300 Whisper so there is no loss of ballistic efficiency because it can still push a 200gr bullet to 1000 fps even with the 7.5" barrel.

If 9mm is more your flavour then this little beast is the way to go.

PWS MK109 Piston upper in 300 Blackout with Stag Arms complete lower with Ergo grip. I've installed a Magpul trigger gaurd since this photo as well. I'm still shopping for a new stock and MilSpec buffer tube.
Just some MI flip-ups and a fakepoint for sights (for now). Gonna grab a couple black Pmags soon as well.
Not sure if the AFG is going to stay or if I'll try something else.

Still working on getting a range membership close to home so I haven't had it out shooting yet.
Hard to find a range that will let you join at a reduced cost for the last month or two of the year. I'm holding off till 2013 memberships go on sale now.
