Advice on first AR purchase

If shooting heavier loads upwards of 62gr and up, yeah get 1/7.....As for Tier System Blaxsun created our very own Canadian version...........

i dont agree with one of the companies he put at the bottom of the list.....

lol im going to be taping your brain for info for my next AR build once my NEA actually shows up.

Using 20" I have found.
1/9 will work up to 69gr but I have found it will not stabilize 62gr tracers due to their length.
1/7 will work 55 to 90gr and with 62gr tracers.

Shorter barrels need faster twists as the bullets have lower RPMs due to reduced velocity.

Do they come with 20" barrels or is that an aftermarket add on?

Just out of curiosity what are you intending to use this gun for? 3 gun, etc? Or just paper punching?

just paper punching to start, not sure what 3 gun is
"3 gun" is a version of competitive shooting. You shoot stages where you use a rifle, shotgun and a handgun. Time and accuracy factor into scoring. Search youtube for "3 gun" and you'll see a ton of videos.

Ill throw in Spikes.

Questar sells them, and they will be getting their next order in December.

Ive learned that my Spikes shoots really well when submerged under muddy water.

There a new trend in a AR15 . More and more piston driven AR's coming on a market lately . As a rule , they came from top level producers as it needs money , own facilities and technical research etc.. Not just knee assembly in a rented unit from parts with unknown brands . One of those models came to Canada lately with help of Wanstalls and has a life time warranty. I wasn't able to resist and got one . Here is my review. I hope that might you to make more balanced decision :
