If you are going to throw a mag durring a course of fire...

Umm........what was the purpose of that????? Other then adding few split seconds onto your time???

That was ****ing awesome. The fact he actually hit the plate with the mag is amazing. But I don't think it really gained him anything other than style points.

he didnt have to go as far into the port as the others, if you watch it it he doesnt even get close to the pressure plate and so he doesnt have to back out like everyone else. He also placed second on the stage with 99.5% soooooo seems like it worked well for me

I also think it was manny (but dont quote me that it was him) this year that had an extra round in his mag compared to the rest of the shooters and on a 24 round course of fire (he had 23 rounds in the gun, everyone else had 22) he just skipped the last round and took the miss. won the stage easily.

and style points are highly underrated

USPSA...the P stands for practical (or, used to ;)). I can't imagine a situation where it would be practical to throw a loaded magazine around....

I throw mags like that all the time. Not intentionally though. :)

Honestly... I'm for it. It's a game. Sure the P for practical is hard to justify these days but props to the guy for thinking of it. Did it help him? I don't really think so. If it did, everyone would have copied it. I've seen it happen... someone figures out how to game a stage to an advantage and sure enough everyone is doing it.

I can. Where you have to activate a swinger and you don't want to run all the way up to step on the box.

But serious, I probably wouldn't shoot the stage like that, but see nothing wrong with those who do.

During the 10 years of shooting IPSC, I remember it being nothing but a game of egos. Personally thats why I moved on.

it's not for everyone. 20 years and still enjoying it.... didn't have to wait too long to figure out it's the right sport for me.

had to do another calculation started in 1992 so it's been 20 years... still not a GM but having fun still.

if it works, then your a hero. if it doesn't then the rest of the guys have fun. a win win situation.

Exactly.

You can definitely hear the laughter from the guys watching in that video I just posted. I'm sure he found it funny too after much chiding from his fellow shooters.

It's like getting a Dairy Queen gift card.
