When I was young (long before the internet existed) and just getting started with shooting, I was completely turned off by most of the gun stores I went to. I was given misinformation and treated like I didn't belong in their community.

There's still two in Calgary that will never get my business no matter how badly I want something they might have.

X2, although I still feel like that in most gun stores. Some places I feel like they sincerely don't want my money.

If a prohib license was created to grandfather current owners, you still can't shoot the rifles any where, and I would speculate that it'd be for that rifle only and not allow you to buy other prohibs.
To me, it's as bad as confiscation, and is not a fair compromise.

I completely agree that it is not a fair compromise, and if any of the rifles I own were to be put on a prohibition order, I would likely initiate a law suit for a large portion of the value of the firearm as damages for loss of enjoyment.

Because you can't cut down/remove the stock and still have an operational rifle
