Was doing a bit of lurking and through the forums and there was a post directing to Blaxsuns list of NR Black Rifles, while looking through I saw that the UMP and the USC were NR (didn't know this prior and just assumed the UMP would be PRO because of how awesome it is). Did a search and there were things here and there but not a whole lot.
So does anyone here: have one / shot one / recommend one / know the availability and price? (I'd assume there are pricey and rare but any info is good)

There was a really good thread on conversion kits a while back. I've seen the USC a few times driving through Red Deer, and I think the Calgary Shooting Center had one at one point?

They're neat, but I think most people buy a USC to do a UMP conversion.

I've handled a UMP before - any while it's REALLY cool, it's pretty massive for what it is. It's like Swiss Arms CQB sized, with less than 1/2 of the firepower.

A REAL UMP will cost you like $8K up here (if you can find one). USC conversions are much more common. Any reason why you want one? Not judging - but there are better/smaller packages available... notably, the TP9 and Kriss.

Non restricted is a plus, but as you can see, the USC just looks dorky. ;) I've never seen or heard of a real UMP that's NR. It can be done, but why?

It's just 'one of those guns' haha no need for one just a want (H&K fanboy...they make cool sh*t), I'm reading about conversion kits now for the USC it seems to be the more plausible avenue. I almost always go NR for the freedom, option of shooting it in the woods + not committing a felony for stopping at Denny's after the range is a plus

I've shot the UMP (with a semi-auto trigger group) and it was pretty nice. A couple of friends of mine each got a hold of one for themselves some years back. One of them sold his for like $3k and didn't phone me first and I wanted to kill him.

The second friend is under strict orders that if he wants to ever get rid of it that I expect a phone call :)

its actually abit smaller than the HK94 as you can see.

There is no issue from the Canadian law point of view with importing/owning the UMP. With a semi auto trigger group it's non-restricted.

The problem is finding an HK dealer that would sell you one. HK Germany is prohibited by German law to sell them to civilians.
