I see that the Sig custom shop offers the E2 grip conversion for 100 bucks or so. http://sigsauer.com/upFiles/CmsContent/documents/CUSTOMSHOP_pricelist_09-11.pdf
I'd prefer not to send my pistol away to Sig for an unknown amount of time, and swapping the parts required is no more complicated than a detail strip, which I can just about do with my eyes closed... (I'm aware that doing any work on the pistol myself voids the warranty, I don't care).
I've checked all the suppliers I can think of, inculding in the US, and all I can find are the conversion kits for the 226 and 229.
Does anyone know where I can get my hands on one?
I have swapped my rosewood grip panels for the black polymer ones, and it has helped a bit with the size of the grip, but the mag release is still just out of reach. If the difference between the legacy 226 and E2 226 is any indication, the E2 conversion would take the fit from "pretty good" to "a-freakin-mazing".
Thanks,
DC
