Random Killing after Hunting Season Ends

Now that hunting season has ended here in Alberta, some of my friends have recommended to do indiscriminate random killings of crows, magpies, tweety birds, squirrels, coyotes, rabbits, etc. They say it is good fun, but I'm more of into hunting for the meat, so I am not sure if this appeals to me. Anybody else into this kind of hunting? If so, why do you like it?
 
I blast gophers .... Can't explain why that's fun.

I hunt rabbits and coyote.

Squirrels.... Surprisingly very tasty.
 
i like small game for meat and i also like coyote hunting (this helps deer and other big and small game)

pest hunting crows,sparrows,starlings,rats this takes up alot of my time its mostly done in and around barns and ther buildings on a few farms around here a .410 with #12 shot inside and a .22lr or .410 with #9 outside
 
Cooked one up at hunt camp as a un successful day joke. Gave it a bite and I was surprised on just how good it tasted.
 
Gutted and skinned, cut off the head and paws than tied it to a stick and cooked it over the camp fire.

Give it a shot. It's not bad man.
 
Small game hunting is good for you.
It gets you out walking and noticing things like big game trails... You get to use the shotgun on close, quick moving targets and have a tasty treat at the end of the day. ;)
 
rabbit (snare), squirrel (head shots)are good to eat and pelt , coyote for the pelt.no point in killing just to kill use what you take.
 
I used to shoot a lot of birds and the odd squirrel but I stopped. When I see a coyote walk up the field I'll shoot it and just leave it for the birds or what-ever else is down there.
 
If you shoot or are going to shoot a coyote but don't know what to do with it call ur local fish n game. Odds are they know of a trapper or someone who will buy the pelt off you.
 
When I was quite young I used to shoot anything that moved, but I don't anymore - Killing just for the sake of killing has no appeal.

I see coyotes all the time when hunting and some of them get with in range but I don't shoot them even though the land owner would be pissed if I were to tell him I let a coyote get away. That is just not my thing. I prefer to focus on a specific game animal and then go after it and kill it with one shot. For me that is a successful hunt.

I get what you are saying, but where I`m from...the trappers are cheap (cheap meaning: they want the coyotes for free), believe me....I talked to one trapper only about 5 miles from my hunting spot....he is cheap. Thus, I shoot and leave the coyotes for the birds. Shot one a couple days ago and it wasn`t 1/2hr later and the crows were doing a good job on him.
