My NR Swiss Arms CQB

Good on you for doing it, I`m still curious about the difference in weight and overall length between it and the Classic NR . I keep going back and forth between doing a Swiss or an ACR. My recurring nightmare is that if I do an ACR they`ll reclassify them all as restricted or prohibited for various reasons that shall go unnamed.

Hey, sorry for not getting back to you sooner. Without any accessories except the B&T quadrail and no mag it weighs 8.75 lbs.

I have always found the full size swiss guns front heavy and slow to shoulder.
A lighter gun could be thrown up(to the shoulder ) faster

Can you take a couple full frame photos of it without the shroud? I think I kind of like the look, I was thinking of mimicking angry eyebrows' build but may go this route instead (unless we get NR ACR IIs or 805 Brens in the near future).

I think it looks great with no shroud. My fav swiss is the 553-Lb (it's a cqb with a 14" barrel) and this looks pretty close it !

:eek:IT'S ALREADY FOR SALE:eek:

How long did you have the thing before you decided to sell it, a few weeks?? a month?

Wow. I wonder, after so many people thought it was so cool how long it will take to sell....I remember being interested in it before the OP modified it to non-restricted, I also seem to remember it was for sale on the EE for a VERY long time before it sold.

I think you already made your point in an earlier thread of what you thought of the rifle..

The OP also mentionned in his EE ad why he was selling it.

That doesn't mean I can't be shocked when the guy decides to sell it so soon.

It's Just a bit surprising, after so much interest and so many people thinking it was awesome, I was curious to see how long it would take to sell. :) If the interest on the first couple pages of this thread is any indication, then it should sell in no time right?

Cool, now other CQB's and carbines can be freed from liberal oppression with non-res barrels.

One of the things that had always bugged me with the 552 is the issues i read about some people were having with it (IIRC the rod holding the recoil spring breaking, effectively killing the gun), which is why they made the 553. Lately I've convinced myself that i NEEDED the 553 conversion but then thought that for the price of the conversion kit, I'd much rather have a factory 553 - which will be my next project - a NR flattop CQB with factory 553 operating system :D

I know I'm a bit retarded in how I let stupid little things bother me like that. I mean after all these guns are supposed to be for shooting paper only right? so who cares if they are not 100% reliable. I remember when I got my NR HK USC and after doing the folding stock conversion thinking that it was the perfect rifle. Then i got thinking that it kinda bothered me that most of the rifle was plastic and felt a bit flimsy so I started looking around for rifles of similar size but made of metal which is how I decided to get the CQB in the first place.

I don't think it's retarded, I have thought about a 552 several times, but with the rounds i put through my guns, i wouldn't trust them based on those stories and SAN changing to the 553

That was on full auto, semi there is no problem. Still I agree they sh!t the bed with the 552.

Ya I know it was only full auto models with high round counts. I put a lot of rounds through the rifles I keep, and I always thought maybe problems with the semi auto's just hadn't happened YET

I have never heard of any 552's with 10,000-20,000 rounds through them. My guess is the semi auto guns are typically civilian toys and just don't get the abusive testing.

If the Auto's break after heavy use, I see no reason why a Semi auto wouldn't under similar abuse, if that's even possible, it would be pretty tough to get a semi "full-auto" hot

She's much lighter than the Classic Green/Black Special...

I'm thinking of getting the 553 conversion but I might let someone else have it for now..

Hey there it is again :D. Can I resist it for a third time??? :p
