Well known photo. The guy is either Korean or Turkmen.

Yeah I hadn't painted the tank when I took that picture.
Here's the same tank that was painted by someone on an R/C forum
Some things about that photo don't add up: one man in SS camo, in a trench with three others? Rifles lying in the mud. The guy with the MP44 practically has the muzzle in the dirt. The man closest to the camera has no Y straps. The trench is a mess with no concealment of spoil. The man on the Pz. with the Mosin-Nagant sniper has his head so far back about all he would see is the tip of the pointer. If it wasn't for the tank, I'd be inclined to say it was a bunch of re-enactors. Notice that the man facing the camera has a straight bolt rifle where the other man does not. Could be a late war photo with grab bag troops and equipment I guess.
You're right, I did a reverse image search and it is a group of reenactors that also happen to have a tank.
What got me thinking is the zero tread draft in the snow. Had to be plastic. I don't care how frozen the ground is, those suckers were freakin' heavy!
I built (and still have) that same 1:16 scale Tamiya tank some 15 years ago.
The accurate detail is amazing. the innards are crammed with electronics which
give the realistic drive action as well as the turret gun and co-axial its firepower.
As soon as I saw the OP, I immediately identified it as the same model as mine.

The war would have been a hell of a lot more costly for the Canadians/Brits/Yanks if not for those targets...a large portion if not the majority of Hitler's elite divisions were decimated on the eastern front.
Agreed. I can't argue that they made better targets than Canadians/Brits/Yanks for sure. I just have ZERO love for commies even if they were an ally of convenience.

I really doubt that many ruskie conscripts who grew up under Stalin's regime were die-hard communists, what with the constant famines and mass executions. Maybe they were brainwashed by propaganda to some extend, idk. I would be more inclined to believe they were fighting primarily for their families and fellow soldiers. Defeat meant certain death for themselves and their families at the hands of the SS, Hitler was in the bussiness of colonizing eastern europe. If that wasn't enough motivation, those NKVD pricks were always ready to shoot them in the back...
