My buddy and I went out this morning and put up a new target stand, it's at 600 yards. It's a bit of a chore to get in here, but worth it. We've been shooting down here since last year. The target board was 700 yards, because that was the only tree available. We wanted a clean 600 yard target, so we built a tri pod 14 feet tall. I didn't get a close up pic, but took one through the scope.
Our firing line is a platform on top of a first growth stump. The stump is ~11 feet across, 6 feet tall, so it works well.
You can see the swamp we have to hike through, and this was on a good day.
The shooting could have been better
, but it was a long night loading last night. I had 41 cases in the loading block before I dumped #42 on top of them, so I had to start over and it was already 11pm. I don't like to rush my loading but you do what you gotta do. This is a 10 shot group with my .223, the grid is 1x1.
And I can't make a post without including a picture of my favorite rifle
