US made Tavor price announced

So why the giant price hike even when we have a stronger dollar? At $2000 or less, a lot of Canadian customers would jump on the Tavor bandwagon. But when we're closer to $3000+, it just gets a bit tricky to justify the purchase to yourself, let alone your other half.

Because one is manufactured in Israel, and the other in the US. If you'd rather have the 16.5" or 18" restricted versions for $2k, but all means...
 
I wish we could get the restricted category classification on OAL and remove the ridiculous barrel length portion. Having both is redundant. We should advocate it based purely on easy of verification in the field by officers.

This has always been my biggest beef with Canadian firearm regs: OAL and barrel length. As you say, its totally redundant and aggravating.
 
I cannot see the Tavor being a big seller in the U.S. market at those prices, not when you can get a gold plated Gucci AR and a bag of chips for the same money.

Fair point. Up here the NR classification is worth big $$$, but when AR's are treated the same as every other rifle they become the obvious choice for 90+% of black rifle users. Unless one has a massive hard on for a bullpup, there is little that a Tavor offers that the AR doesn't.

why do people have such a hardon for bayonet lugs around here? especially on a tavor. might as well pull your knife out and stab them at arms length, i mean it is an inherently short rifle.... anyway i want one soo bad but can't afford one, so ill probably end up selling another rifle and saving cash for its ugly second cousin, t97
 
I'd buy a Tavor for $2000, so that I could get one in FDE. Then send it to Heron for a match barrel, and now you have a more accurate FDE Tavor for about the same price as a plane jane one up here.
 
You guys are crazy if you think a $2,000 msrp will make it cheaper in Canada. Look at golcks, keltec sub 2000, ranch hands, any and all guns are less money in the good ol' u.s and a.
I would bet the us made ones will be the same price or more if the do a Canadian run... And thats if we can even get them with the itar bs.
 
A bunch of tavor sales in the US guarantees access to parts in the future. This is better than hoping for parts from Israel if you need something.
 
I wouldnt normally consider spending that kind of money on a firearm however $2000 for a restricted Tavor is very tempting. Would be interested if Irunguns would ship up here
 
We will be a stocking dealer in the New Year and we will carry the Non Restricted version.... Just for Canada....
