Shorten PAL Approval Times

So this is a little odd (normal odd, not CFC odd): Mine and my reference interviews were done about a week ago, and the status on the RCMP site says my licence has been issued, but I just received mail from the RCMP requesting more information. Why would they issue the licence if more information is required?

Did you by any chance already provide them with that info by calling in?

I had this but had already cleared up the issue on the phone yet the mail notice came a few days before the PAL showed up.

Received 17 September..... still pending. :S Told that once it goes to the BC CFO they have 45 days to sit on it. Is 3 months a common amount of time to wait?

Good Stuff...now if the mail man can get over the Rockies and across the Strait of Georgia in a week you'll be smiling for Christmas.

Yep ;) Perhaps mine will get printed when yours does... I'd expect to be a day behind you in the mail then since I live in the boonies north of you.

We live on the Island, our status changed to issued on November 14th, my husbands was in our mailbox November 26th, so 7 full business days. They re-issued mine on November 29th and it was in our mailbox December 7th, so 6 full business days. When I called about mine not showing up with my husbands they said it had been mailed on November 16th, so that cuts it down to 6 business days. Here's hoping yours shows up that quickly!

6 days would make for a nice stocking stuffer :)

The lady I spoke to said they'd sent one to me as well but I could ignore it since I called in. Apparently they sent me a letter asking me to call in when I missed there call... Private Name, Private Number on call display when I got home and no voice mail.

Apparently due to privacy issues if your voicemail message or that of your references doesn't identify you/them by name and phone number they will not leave a message, so it's best just to call in.

Well that makes sense but frustrating since they called my evening number in the daytime! Good way to clear any backlog tho. Those people in a rush like most of us will be all over it and just call in anyhow. The sleepers can sleep lol

Has anybody experienced this before ?

- Called in at the CFC to ask how much detail I should put in providing additional info about a separation and was told that she could not coach me there for could not answer that question.

In my case i put an extra letter with the date of seperation, and then divorce since it was less than 2 years. I also included a copy of divorce certificate. Make sure to add your name at top of letter so they can reference to app.
