NEA Lower Question/Problem... HELP!

Personally if there's an out-of-spec hole I would just send it back. I'd probably make SURE the hole was out of spec first...but if that's the case, send it back.

I agree with the people who say that no correctly built part should require modification to work.

Granted, without knowing whether any of the other referenced parts are in spec it's impossible to say from here what part has the issue.

But if you know it to be the NEA part, by all means send it back and let them deal with it.

That has been the case with the 3 NEA lowers I have completed. I suspect it will be the case with the 4th sitting in the safe.

I take the bolt catch roll pin and push it down the back end of a knife blade so that the pin gets opened up a bit/flared on one end. Seems to work just fine. Should it be necessary? Hell no. Do they know about it? Probably...they've been assembling complete rifles using stock LPK...they must know. Can I speculate as to why it hasn't been fixed yet? No....this one is a face palmer.

What....? Are you attempting to make some kind of point? I don't understand your comment. Does a upper action not slide into place as it pivots? Haha... Sorry still not seeing the relevance here. It is pretty hard to "pivot" an upper into place when the front lug wouldn't even "slide" into its place in the front of the receiver.

I missed this was the front pin.. all you said was you were trying to slide the upper into the lower..
 
Unfortunately it's both pins. Without taking any "tools out" I continued to try and get the upper into the lower tonight. It is still very snug. Being one of my two first builds, I'm tempted to count my losses and sell the upper to somebody who wants the challenge and has the tools for a hell of a price haha. I'll continue along with my other build that is going smoothly... I don't feel like going through the hassle of sending my upper away to find/exchange for an NEA lower that will match it, especially since I just mounted the barrel, handguard etc on it tonight.

seriously, just send it back. As the customer this crap is not you job.
 
Feel free to send the lower back if you aren't happy. No need to try and sell it at a loss. As anyone can tell you we're easy to deal with.

How much more "done with it" could he be than just sending it back to Ryan for a full refund? I don't get it.

Also strange how initially it wouldn't fit without some serious sanding or filing and then it did fit without modification but was just more snug than he would have liked. I thought everyone preferred a tight upper to lower fit? Maybe the new owner can put a micrometer on it and shed some light - it's hard to know what to take away from all of this.

I agree that it doesn't make sense. Selling it at a loss and having to ship it to the new owner is no less work than shipping it back for a full refund. Unless he sold it on the EE for a profit it would make no sense.
 
Stuff like this makes me chuckle, a company blowing out lowers for super cheap and everyone thinks its some random act of good will... Its because they had a batch of junk lowers and needed to get rid of them. Who better to sell them to then people looking for cheap junk
