I agree with this 150%, but why should gunsmiths be "above" public review, I'm pretty sure that if it was a car shop the name would have been in the second line of the post. The fact that this smith let work like that out of his shop is disturbing, that fact that the OP used this thread knowing that the smith would read it, just to use it as leverage to get his money back and then close it, is, in my opinion not in the usual good spirit of gun enthusiasts helping each other that I have so far experienced here.
Other smiths can chime in and say that theres always another side to the story, sure I agree, so why doesn't this smith chime up and explain what happened.
I for one, living not too far from the OP, would like to know who did this work, if that work left their shop in the first instance, I certainly would not take it back for any kind of a fix, in my opinion the OP should have demanded a full refund upon sight of the gun, and then if he felt like letting others know - posted the whole situation, not just tit bits in order to get a better deal with this crappy smith......
Just my opinion, we all work damned hard for our coin and I hate to see $1500 of work that looks like this......
