first 9mm

The best value right now for a quality, name-brand pistol would be the S&W M&P range kit. If you can find two of them used, you might not exceed your $1,000 budget by too much.

Return to the store and buy all his stock :),you never gona find deals like this.
Girsan-official Turkish copy of Beretta

if i were to buy up his stock on 9mm, it would probably be close to 3k, which is way more than the budget i have for both guns lol. He restocked these bullets about 2 years ago and his prices havent changed, so i dont quite think i have to worry too much about them dissapearing. also i do reload for my rifle, and it wouldnt be much of a jump to reload for the handgun, other than i would need to buy a lee progressive press for about 150$. i did look at the s&w 9mm that came with the 2 pink grips, my wife liked the looks of that lol. i may have even told her i knew a place we could anodize some of the other parts pink for her.

Thanks so much for all of the suggestions, its going to take quite a while to research everything, but i knew i could get a decent shooter that wasnt a knock-off/norinco/milsurp. when the time is right i will be searching the ee first, i always like to help my fellow gunloving brothers when i can.

. . . what name brand ammo is he selling for that price? And more importantly, do they have a website?

It is good buys in Saskabush ;) Lee progressive for $150 :) I don't think the supplier will have his stock for a long time, if he will start the website and online dealing :)

i have to make sure that i can get the ammo for the same price for this years restocking order before i can let the info out on this dealer, dont want to shoot myself in the foot. The bullets are remington and no he doesnt have a website, and i can pretty much garantee he will never have one.

+1 for the sti gp6, great pistol, easy tear down, shoots great straight out of the box.........either way ..enjoy

Personally...if I was going to buy a pair of 9 mills with a $1000 budget, I'd be looking for Gen3 Glock 17's...I've seen a couple here on the EE in recent weeks for $550ish...it's a bit of a gamble as they go fast. Best of luck! it's all pretty exciting especially when getting the bride involved.....mine thinks firearms are unessasary, and would rather see me in Church on the weekends...ugh

My wife enjoys shooting, she showed up a bunch of us shooting at tea cups at the farm with my Enfield. 6 guys couldn't hit the cup, but her first shot ever, and she smoked that thing. Ever since, whenever we go to west Edmonton mall, we spend 300$ at the shooting range, and nothing gets a woman hornier than shooting a hand gun. She likes to shoot the sig 9mm, but budget doesn't allow it at this time, maybe in the future. I have thought the possibility of getting 2 different guns and seeing what she likes, i could care less what i shoot, I'll get good with any make, that and i love shooting the 44mag
