Gsg stg-44 non-restricted rifle

Even when it's a good thing in this country, it's still not quite a good thing :(

Even if they made it in Non-Restricted in .22LR how awesome would it be to have them in 18.5" barrel in 7.62x39 Non Restricted!?

I'd sell a kidney to get one!

I would prefer one in .223, cheap to shoot but has more range then 7.62x39. Now that would:rockOn:

I would still buy it in .22 lr if it comes in non-restricted.

Offer the MP44 in a larger caliber and around the $1000 price point, and you've got two sold.

Nothing new from the RCMP about the GSG STG-44, guys. Thanks for being patient and maintaining your interest. Rest assured that we will post any news on CGN as soon as it comes in.

Stay tuned, though, because we're going to be making an announcement at SHOT Show about something very exciting ;)

What another cool gun we would want that should easily be non restricted that the RCMP will stonewall for a year or so only to deem it inadmissible to Canada ?

Can you not find anyone at RCMP that will give you a definitive time table that the classiification will be completed by? Seriously though, what excuses can they possibly give you that you would let you continue to be lead on like this?

LOL! Although I share your frustration, you can't possibly be surprised by a govnt bureaucracy being inefficient, confusing and incompetent, can you? Delay and mysterious-workings-behind-closed-doors is the norm in my experience.

Nevertheless, with the AWB and magazine limit stuff happening down south, I wonder if we might get some of the goods once destined for American markets. Hope springs eternal!

Since we're waiting, hopefully the manufacturer is replacing the brass threaded stock screws on the buttstock. I read a recent American Rifleman evaluation some time ago. They liked the rifle, but the evaluator noted that the stock screws weren't up to the job of securing the stock.

That's probably what's keeping the RCMP from releasing an FRT. They're taking the safety of the public into account and won't allow them to be released until they're replaced with a stronger material.

So, it's been most of a month, time to bump this again...

What are those RCMP doing? You would think they could do a classification on a .22 in about 15 minutes.

Blue Line seems to be trying to get a monopoly on my purchases, you dastardly group of gentlemen!

EDIT: I just went through the whole thread, my hopes feel dashed. Cursed RCMP classification process!

Hello All,
I apologize for the delays and please note that we are in the same position as you. We have spoken again to the RCMP yesterday requesting information on the STG-44 and were told that it is still in line to be looked at. We have requested an ETA on how long this process may take many times and they will not give us any indication on how long the process is currently taking. They simply say it is a first in first out process and that police investigations take priority in the lab prior to all classifications. I will keep everyone posted with any updates as we get them.

Best regards,
Ryan Patterson
