Wait about 3 days, if they have not called you by then I suggest you call them and ask if you can do your interview. Then get your references to call them too. After that you just wait out the 28 days until "issued" shows up. Then you only have the long wait for the Pony Express to get through the Rockies.

I only applied for a PAL no RPAL, will I still need to complete an interview?
And it has been 29 calendar days. I hope it's not 28 business days I need to wait :/

It's 28 calendar days for sure...I have heard people say no interviews for a PAL but I have also heard the opposite...I got an R so I can only speak for that process

Well its official, my license arrived today! Woohoo! My credit card has no idea what kind of abuse its about to undertake!

Congratulations!!

I'm waiting for my last little piece of paper that will FINALLY allow me to go to the range with my CZ, the Certificate of Registration.

I called the BC CFO today via the extension # through Miramichi, asked them to please email it to me, the guy told me being that as they were CFC not CFO they didn't have a copy they could email and told me that all my Certificate info. is on my Notice of Transfer. I then asked if I could take my gun to the range with just the Notice of Transfer, he told me it depended on who pulled me over, some officers would be ok with just the Notice, others not so much.

I'll wait for the mail, it would suck to have my License revoked for something so stupid. :p

This whole CFO thing is incredibly confusing. When you called the CFO extension you were not talking to the CFO? Are these not the same CFO people we call through the CFC 800 line to get our ATT by email? Am I now hearing the CFO is not always the CFO?
I have tried Google for information on the BC CFO, who it reports to etc but all I can find is they have an office in Surrey managed by Terry Hamilton....nothing on structure or governance...very strange set up. She must have a boss in the BC Government we can contact.

My understanding is that other CFO offices and the CFC are helping the BC CFO office out clearing their backlog, so when you use the BC extension when you call the Miramichi number the call could be picked up by anyone. All offices have access to your electronic file, hence the reason they always ask a bunch of security questions to make sure it's you after you give your PAL number or reference number.
Even though I've called the BC CFO office on a number of occasions, to check on transfers, apply for an LTATT, STATT etc, etc, I think I've spoken to someone in that office exactly once, the other times have been someone at the CFC, Nova Scotia CFO or Alberta CFO. Both my LTATT and STATT were emailed to me and they came from the Alberta CFO office according to the email address.
It makes you wonder what exactly the BC CFO office actually does??

Application Received on: 2012/11/23

my application is just for a regular PAL, i checked online and it was recieved on 2012/12/14, it says "your appliocation has completed initial processing and it is now in progress.please check again at a later date. i called and asked what this ment yesterday and she said that it was all good and i didnt need anymore info and my references will not be contacted and my application is just waiting to be added into the system and it could take up to 45 to 60 days for this to happen. i hope she is wrong because this message showed up online after exactly 28 days from them recieveing my application.

We're in Victoria too. Status changed to issued on November 14th, husband had his in hand November 26th. They screwed up the address on mine so when I called on November 29th they said both had been mailed out on November 16th. They had to reissue mine and I had it in hand on December 6th.

Your on-line issued date of Jan 03 is not necessarily the date that your license is printed and mailed. The paperwork that came with my license indicated it was really issued 4 days after the posted on-line date issued. It makes it seem that the mail is slow when it really did not leave Miramichi when you think it did. You should have it any day now.
