I have one myself and last year I must have killed around 1500 gophers (yeah...seriously). This year two big things are happening: I am getting married, and gopher season is happening again. My fiance is somewhat into guns and when she was out last year she killed some gophers. But I want to get a Ruger 10/22 for her that I can build to her specs (shes shorter, small hands, likes vertical foregrips because they are easier to hold up the gun, maybe but a little bit of pink somewhere on it  ) and get her more into shooting. Anyways I checked at Cabelas and they say they are sold out and will be for basically ever. Some come up on the EE but I do not want to pay $400 for a basic 10/22; I paid $200 for my Ruger 10/22 last year at Cabelas grand opening sale...I obviously should have bought 2...or 5.

Is there some place that has them in stock for cheap? Or someone selling one for a reasonable price?

I saw a few at the Regina Gunshow..With the American frenzy on semi-auto's it may be slim pickings this year on 10/22's.
$275 isnt a bad price for a stainless 10/22, Id buy it if I was in the market for 10/22

Frontier Firearms are showing the 10/22 takedown on their site...... Call before ordering to confirm stock..... I've dealt with them in the past, they are great.. no complaints.

Take some advice from an old shooter who's on his 4th marriage..............scrap the whole program..........wedding, honeymoon and new 10/22 for the bride............ and just enjoy shooting the gophers singly, or with a buddy, with the 10/22 you have. You will live happily ever after, trust me!!!!! You'll have way more money for the things YOU want to do, you can drink as much beer/scotch/rye whenever you want, you can buy guns whenever the urge hits you, you can belch, fart and swear whenever you feel like it and the mundane day to day stuff you can hire a house keeper for and it will cost you 1/10th of the program you are considering embarking on now. Just a word of warning, if you continue on the course you are on now, all these things will evaporate and in 5 years you won't be hunting, let alone gopher shoots, your paycheck will go into the JOINT account that you DON'T have cheques or a debit card for, your friends will be UNACCEPTABLE and not welcome in your house. A new ATV/Argo/sled/motorcycle will be out of the question because new kitchen cabinets take priority. I hope you are really in love with your pickup you have now, 'cause you ain't getting a new one for 10 years, after her new economic, little run around car is paid for then comes the minivan/SUV for the safety of the children............OH YA then comes the children.............. I'll quit now, I'm getting depressed and my blood pressure is dangerously high...............maybe I'm just cynical.............Just be aware there are something like 3 BILLION of them out there, you don't have to have just one! ;)

no, you got the last. we are completely out.....
That might've been me, got it in the mail last week (sent a message asking if it was in stock, the last one). But yeah, try digging through the yellowpages for local shops, or keep the search going online.

it doesn't look good in the future for new 10/22's. I got the last one from Jo-brooks...stainless synthetic. but I didn't tell my wife yet. Probably never will. Thats the secret to a succesfull marriage.
