All sounds good to me & I am glad you prefer it..., but ok, Just to be clear; I am not comparing what one is "better", because the .300 will WIN! The point is that I don't care & hope/beg, that it is avail. in x39 cal. (orig. post to this thread)
Simple as that.
Like I said in my previous post...
Doesn't matter to me if the round is "better" or not... all my 7.62x39's will still put holes in paper & destroy produce in the woods just as good.
No need for a "better" cal.
But hey... you are communicating with a guy who still likes push buttons on his flip phones instead of waiting in lineups to get the latest & greatest.
I'm still begging for them to have this in a 7.62x39
-no need for a response... I know you like the .300!-
I cannot speak for Suputin but I will say this. It's not like he's being a "fanboi" of the .300 BLK. He cut his teeth on exploring the versatility of the 7.62x39mm cartridge in subsonic applications many years ago and has documented it all on an older web site he created. Perhaps, you are not aware of his work in this area? His opinions aren't based on something he read online or in a magazine. He's making his opinions based on the knowledge of having BTDT.
If subsonic 7.62x39mm applications interest you, then check out Suputin's work found here...

What does one do with a 300 BLK?
Both the .300 BLK and 7.62x39mm have similar or identical ballistics to the .30-30 Winchester with supersonic applications in mind. No one in their right mind would argue a .30-30 has little or no benefit.
The Blackout is a small yet highly efficient case design and is arguably a more versatile cartridge in a manual repeating firearm compared to semi-autos chanberred for it. With the .308 bore diameter you have a vast bullet selection available. I'm in the process of buying some 90gr. XTP's and already have a 245gr. cast lead bullet mold waiting to be used.
Sur eit makes holes, but is the attraction that it is easy to make subsonic?
Yes, that's one additional advantage one has IF they choose to persue to do so, however, it's a secondary consideration. AAC introduced the cartridge with marketing emphasis on its use in semi-autos and the vast majority of users in these firearms are using supersonic ammunition for reliable cycling and 7.62x39mm performance.
It all depends on an individual's intended usage.
I Would buy it.....If it was made by Savage
Buy a Shilen pre-fit barrel in .300 BLK and have at it. Pick any contour and rate of twist you prefer and your off and running.
