Hey I've saved enough scratch for a semi.my there choices are m305 sks or cz 858,which would you guys use in a zombie apocalypse.any input would be appreciated.than.kz

.22 rifle with drum mags, less recoil, and a .22 headshot will do enough damage...and much quieter than a m305 or CZ.

I second the .22, you can carry more ammo without breaking your back, takes less space in the ruck, and you can use it to hunt small animals.

Disappointingly this was going to be my answer too.

Sorry OP, when it comes to Zombie apoc, i'm not going to want to lug my battle rifle around. I've seen the movies, all the engagements are under 100m.

To be fair though a mid range rifle would be beneficial if you're up against people who wants to pillage your camp during zombie apocalypse

it would have to be an AR15 , simply due to the fact that you could have a few uppers.
22 for general zombie killin when yer out shoppin for supplies
300blackout upper for distance shooting to cover your buddies while they are headin back in to camp
and a pistol caliber upper for general camp defense against living and non living threats.

of your three choices though as you are no doubt after a nonrestricted...... i would always have an 18.5" or socom M14 in the rig
and between an sks and 858....... i think the 858 has more appeal here. little lighter, comes with a pistol grip and detacheable mags, while i hate the 858, i think it would be much more handier to deploy as an all around defense rifle than an sks
the standard fare sks these days with a fixed magazine just doesn't cut it as a zombie gun at all , survival rifle?..... sure..... zombie horde rifle?.... maybe a nicely equiped D model would be okay

Zombies generally suffer from a sense of malaise and move very slowly. A zombie would have a tought time raising a weapon to get a good cheek weld, so I would suggest a reflex sight, due to the light weight and forgiving eye relief. A heavy 10-30x50 long range scope could be too much of a burden for a zombie's spindly little arms.

TBH lol... if zombies do rise up, and are impervious to cold, heat, maggots, predators I would make my camp around this -

and rig it to draw energy from solar panels =D problem solved.

Reminded me of this:

If every person on Earth aimed a laser pointer at the Moon at the same time, would it change color?

—Peter Lipowicz

Not if we use regular laser pointers.

The first thing to consider is that not everyone can see the Moon at once. We could gather everyone in one spot, but we learned our lesson about that a few weeks ago. Instead, let’s just pick a time when the Moon is visible to as many people as possible. Since about 75% of the world’s population lives between 0°E and 120°E, we should try this while the Moon is somewhere over the Arabian Sea.

...and it gets better.
