25-06 for Moose

... and moose very rarely and elk rarely due to draws being hard to get or in the case of elk ....
Elk is a "horse of a different colour". In my experience, elk are much tougher than moose. Moose are large; but relatively easy to kill. Elk seem to have much more "reserve capacity".
If you are thinking about a .257 for elk, I'd only use the toughest bullets available. And do a lot of shooting practice form the field positions you'll use.

Folks harvest moose with bows and arrows, .243, 6.5x55, 30/30 etc...so 25-06 should work if you do your part.

Personally for BC brush I'd pack my 45/70...Because I have that option. When/if we move to Alberta I may pick up a 30-06.

Also where there is Moose there tends to be BIG bear. ;)
