Although a .22 worked in Zombie land... I have some serious questions about how much of the brain it would destroy. Peirce the skull, oh ya forsure. But it actually has to destroy the brain.

I think I would stick with some thing in .223 (5.56) or 12ga. Sure they are loud but with a 12 gage you don't nessisarly need to destroy the brain when the head is blown clean off. So an AR for engagements at range, and because ammo and the ability to carry ammo is plentiful. And an 12" 870 for close engagements.

OK, I know this is purely fantasy, but...

Close range edged weapons would create too much blood splatter. Sure they would work but get any blood in your mouth eyes or in a cut in your skin and consider yourself on the wrong side of the zombie apocalypse.

Ya but wouldn't a bunch of Stig's with battle axes be an awesome force to reckoned with..

Ruger 10/22, modified to cycle subsonics...Loud noise is a zombie magnet....I would keep my 9mm CZ75 shadow, loaded with zombie max ammo, holstered on my hip though, just incase Big Hoss comes limping around the corner.

All really depends on what type of zombies were dealing with...If its the slow "walking dead" type, then no worries...If were talking about berzerk zombies from "resident evil", then my ruger stays in the safe, and I grab my CZ858, with bayonet attached....and assuming its an apocalypse, with no police or military left, then I would be using high capacity 30 round mags...loading with bright green zombie max ammo, of course.

If we are going with any rifle I would have to say an AK74u for my main assault rifle. Long range I would go with a Barrett 82 (might as well take their heads off before they can even start running). Handgun I would rock a G18 with an extended mag, my shotty would be an AA-12 loaded with 000 buck and my melee weapon would be a spear because you don't want those f**kers getting too close.

If I could only have guns available in Canada it would have to be a VZ 58 with an unpinned drum, my long range would probably be a mag fed 700, my shotty a short barrel browning BPS 10 gauge loaded with nails and my pistol would be a Glock 21 with an unpinned extended mag. Keeping the spear. Kick a** melee weapon haha

AR15 would be the perfect combination for killing zombies and potential hostile people you come across.
Also unlike many of the .22's mentioned on here you can actually put a bayonet on it for close in zombie fighting or for when you dont want to make noise.

Have you budgeted for the handcart you're going to need to lug all that around?

Jr carbine in 9mm and a clock 17. Same ammo same mags. That and an harcore hardware tomahawk and you're all set. Lol

Don't forget that in a zombie apocalypse, you'll prabably have to deal with bad poeple. 22lr just doesn't cut it.
