nah you know what I'm good with it. 20 some years ago I hung out with :bigHug::bigHug::bigHug::bigHug::bigHug::bigHug::bigHug:s and acted like an :bigHug::bigHug::bigHug::bigHug::bigHug::bigHug::bigHug: and got a record as a result. Subsequent to that I got asked about it at the border and ended up with a denied entry to the US, which is for life. I'm now in the process of getting my waiver application done to fix that, but no guarantees. I've never hidden the fact I have a record, so I'm fine with people making jokes about it, or even just plain talking about it. I'm pretty confident that I've worked myself beyond the record, given that I get a lot of business from various government agencies for training their guys, not likely the cops are going to hire someone they are concerned about, especially the same department that I got the record from.
However, none of that has anything to do with the suspension I'm under with IPSC BC, ha, if it was I'd be filing a human rights complaint for discrimination lol. No my suspension is about many things other than that.
It's nice though, going to Belize with the wife to look at property down there, spending more time with her on weekends, riding my bike, I'm pretty sure I'll have a full summer without IPSC this year.
 
minor drug possession, assault charge...etc are enough to get you barred from entering the USA. ie: caught smoking weed or getting in a fight at a bar would do it. I lost count of how many times I got into bar fights (working) and also got into a few fights not working, and also into a VERY serious altercation (a LONG time ago). It could easily be me or anyone else. Good luck ROb,...is there IDPA in your area?
 
Wow, Well if that's how they want to play I'm guess I'm not interested IPSC any more, thanks for sharing and I hope it works out for you.
 
Well before reading this thread I was considering joining IPSC. I was very eager and looking forward to the 4 hour drive to go shooting. I am now not as eager and I will re consider when to join.

Admit it, you never had any intention of shooting an IPSC match, but you need an excuse to not attend. Slavex himself has said that this incident should not deter anyone from trying out the sport and seeing for themselves if they like it.

The actions of one person, or even a few people should not keep anyone from trying out an activity that they might enjoy.

I agree with HB, as an IPSC shooter and the founding member of IDPA Canada, there is no reason why you should not try IPSC. It is a fantastic shooting discipline with a lot of great people. Even though I started IDPA in Canada with a few others, I still shoot IPSC, and I love it as much as IDPA... no good reason to not try it, if you like action shooting this could be your ticket. If you do try IPSC, you would get to see some amazing equipment and shooters. Watching HungryBeagle effortlessly glide through a course of fire is something to see for sure. I still beleive that Chris is bending the bullet :)

And for Slavex, with any shooting sport he takes up, he is definatly someone that will do extrememly well in any of them. He is a great one to learn from.
 
It sadden me that this topic got 32k views and almost 400 replies as if there is nothing better to discuss here.
Why can't we talk about past and upcoming great matches, new training books or techniques or about new gear instead?

All that would be required for you to get your wish Euxx would be for the BC BOD to do the right thing. I would not hold your breath.
 
as HungryBeagle says, don't let this deter your from trying IPSC, I've seen lots of stupid stuff in all the shooting sports, this incident should not be refelctive of the sport as a whole. give it a try and you'll have a blast.
 
For those who are interested and are local or somewhat local, Abbotsford has a two gun match (pistol/shotgun) happening on Jan. 26th. Yes I know, shameless plug.
