Hog Huntin' in the USA

As for the gun paperwork side, it's almost as easy as the bow mentioned above. Just did mine, need a BATF Form 6NIA, download it online, full it out, and fax it in. Mine was approved in 3 days. I would go to Florida myself, been all through hog country and that's the prettiest- well except Hawaii that is.

You will have a blast! I hunted them regularly for several years on property belonging to friends in North Carolina, in the 80's. Huge fun! We shot them with .375's, .308's, .45-70's, bows, 1911's, .44mags, muzzleloaders...even tried, unsuccessfully, to spear one!

A year or so ago I saw an ad on AR for some outfit that takes you out after dark with NV equipment (Texas, I think)....in case you're bored!

We brought meat back a couple of times, but they are pests and a lot of the meat was used for dog food rather than human consumption. These were just feral hogs, not the much cooler Euro-strain boars that occasionally were found after escapes from one of the hunting preserves. We considered those the real trophies...I got only 2 over the years, out of many more feral piggies.

Enjoy!:D

Some people hunt hogs with airguns.......

I have fired a 45 cal airgun, pushing a 500 grain slug at just under 700 fps.....

My buddy did it in florida with rons guide service. He and a couple buddies brought their crossbows. No paperwork needed. Both his buddies shot pigs first, then when it was his turn he made a bad shot(wounding it) then missed a couple of times in thick cover and ran out of arrows. So Ron the guide throws him a speer and says go get him and thats what he did. Ended up speering the damm thing to a tree. Said it was an awesome hunt and the meat was great. You don't have to bring a gun, I'm pretty sure you can rent a rifle, pistol, crossbow or speer from Ron the guide for pretty cheap. Hope that helps.

Beyond illegal, and unbelievably dangerous in a fixed wing. How hard have you guys looked into this? :)

Was at breakfast with about 2 pots of coffee one day. Would be interesting but thats as far as it got. Also brought up a bmg mounted to it lol. A person can dream up anything with a good imagination

You know how it is. It all starts with "hey wouldnt that be awesome" Then spirals out of control to some really crazy ideas

I've never done it, but it will be my next (away from home ) hunt, I'm pricing it now and will be using a chopper if I can afford it. YIPPY I OO. Jim

I've hear about people seeing them from sangudo all the way up by fort vermillion. There in saskabutch I've read to. If its addictive as it looks might be some spots closer to home to get a big pile of bacon.

Yup they are in sk. The owner of the company I work for hunts them by the river south of Saskatoon

232 hogs in 4 hours of flying.

That suppressed full auto was interesting....

its helping alot more then going there paying to hunt one trophy and leave

i dont fly but put me in the back pf a truck with a ak or saiga 12 and i'll gladly pay for ammo and shoot as many as i can im trying to make some friends in TX but i already have friends in GA they have some hog problems as well and my martini is almost ready for a hunt or two that big old 480gr slug will sure put a hurting on them
