I've owned 1-14 twist and 1-8 twist 22-250's and some .223's and a couple .17 rems.... and a .243. I currently shoot a 22-250 with 75 amax and it is very accurate and doesn't drift a whole lot in the wind. If I was going to do it again I'd likely choose a 1-10" twist custom barell and dedicate it to the 53g vmax and try to find an accuracy node in the 3700fps+ range. It will outperform (IMHO) the heavy and lighter bullets out to 500 yards which is really a heck of a long poke anyways. It will lose to the heavy bullets past that and drift more up to 500 too but I think it will provide adequate splat factor and shoot pretty freakin flat up to then. Really like my gn now but would like a .22-250 AI built specifically for that .290 BC 53vmax.
