And we have $150 Russian SKS's.
I predict (again like a couple of years ago when they apparently weren't worth $375) that this batch will be gone in a couple of weeks and the same fence-sitters will again bemoan that they missed them.

You seem not to understand. At all!
The difference in price comes from the enormous distance they have to be shipped to the dealers here in the north.
From all the export - import paperwork, and not to forget the extrem climat, with all the snow and ice and storms here in Canada.
In reality the dealers do you a big favour when they sell you this beat up junk.
Be asured, they barely break even when they offer you such a great deal!
Next time get your facts straight before making any accussations!

Dennis Kroh of Empire Arms is long time friend and he has been buying collections left right and center for about a year now, the economy is bad in the USA and so its a buyers market. We must also take into account the large volume of RC K-98's imported into the USA over the years, Dennis once sold 400 RC K-98's in one day. In Canada, I would say only a few thousands of the RC's were imported here in about a 5 year period. This last import of rifles are of poorer quality, but could certainly be the last one we see. There is an alternative right now, still quite a few RC VZ-24 still available on the market much cheaper and of better quality.

I think we are comparing apples to oranges! Let us not forget about all of our cheap 7.62x39 that we have up here! Some things are cheaper in the states and some things are cheaper here, that's just the way it is! I bought my Tula '55 Sks for $150 at Jobrook this summer. When was the last time an American could get a deal like that?
I'd say if those rc k98's are $375 plus tax we'll call that $400 plus shipping, import fees etc. Is that really that great of a price by the time you get it here?
