Took the CZ 452 and vortex diamondback 2-7x out yesterday with the goal of trying out a few different rounds. Thus I chilled on the bench, used a phone book and a box of shells for support and shot some targets. I feel good about most of my trigger pulls but Im no pro(hence asking for advice + the screen name)
Shooting 5 shot groups at 50 yards I got
0.8" winchester super x
0.8" remmy yellow jacket
1" remmy subsonic
Havent cleaned the gun in atleast 500 rounds.
I hear on the internets a ton of people getting 1 moa atleast out of their cz 452s- seems Im getting about 1.5-2 MOA here. Is it reasonable to expect better with this cheap ass ammo or should I set expectations higher?
Also my goal for this season is to set up hanging 6-9" steel targets and set them up at 100-200 yards. I figure if I spend a season shooting the crap out of those I'll be ready to start with a centerfire.... To do that I need to gauge how bulk ammo groups at 100 and 150. how the hell does one shoot for groups and test ammo at 100 yards with a 7x scope? I found 50 yards was ok but 100! I can definitely hit my 8"x8" hanging steel but a crosshair and tiny groups?
