Kev your absolutely correct.

The reason I suggested this set up to the OP is because all of these 1-8,9,10 etc etc etc are getting to be the size of the Mark 6 I suggested and bigger. And a lot of these optics in the 1- whatever are either sacraficing magnification, reticle choice or a true 1X daylight bright red dot.

Since the Mark 6 is only 11.9 inches compared to the S&B 1-8 at 11.42 inches why not combine a Mark 6 3-18 with horus reticle and a bomb proof daylight bright T1 and essentially have a 1-18 combo for less than the price of a 1-8 S&B. (plus leupold lifetime warranty).

IMO I think Leupold got this combo right for the size of the DAGR system and its versatility on multiple weapons platforms. At least until a compact 1-20 is developed.

Keep in mind my version of the DAGR is combining a Mark 6 with a T1 to replicate Leupolds actual DAGR which has more bells and whistles and higher price.

That's what I will be doing!

Just received it this week and it is a great piece of glass, should meet all your needs that you require. Picture above shows you how compact the Leupold Mark 6 optic is....

At that price it makes me want to go all the way and get 1-8x by leupold and be done with it....

Add the T-1 and the mount and ..........

Currently according to Leupold the Mark 8 is not exportable as it is an ITAR item, and frankly even if you can export the optic through IRUNGUNS & spend all that money you would have no warranty support due to the agreement that Korth & Leupold have in hand...

Not that it matters for Canadians but its $2385 on Larue tacticals website with mount.

Last time I checked when it was available on irunguns website, the MK6 3-18 with H58 was around $2500.

When I talked to Jason at irunguns about warranty issues he said they stand behind the products they sell.

I get that but it still means you could loose your optics for extended periods of time, and since it is ITAR it means paperwork for him each and every time, and I expect that shipping would be covered by whom??

I definitely like the CQBSS with the horus and that 1-10 looks interesting. For me its about the multi platform/multi caliber use of the DAGR style optic. I will like to be able to use the same optic for my AR/Tavor/Bolt gun etc etc. for the cost of 1-10 etc I would feel limited by the lower magnification. If money wasn't an option for me I would have the S&B 5-25 for my bolt a CQBSS for the AR/Tavor but I don't, and I feel the MK6 3-18 with T1 is the best all around optic I could use. That is just me though, if you have the $$$ for a dedicated optic for all you platforms get the CQBSS with horus !

I won't argue with you there Gadget. I didn't get into any costs or time to get the optic back with Jason since my optic $$$ went buying a Tavor :). But that is something Leiber can talk to him about if he is ready to purchase now.

I think for me is that I cant justify the almost 1K markup in price between here and the US.

Truth is I need the lottery to come through and then I can buy it all, and give a few scopes away now and then to guys like you ....lol...

I can only afford one...though...lol.

Yeah you are right, I was comparing the version on Irunguns and Optics Planet and the version IRG is offering is $2999 and they are selling it for 3799, I think all hold out...
 
Can the DAGR system be bought in Canada and how much if it is possible? Just wondering how much of a saving buying the package vs getting everything separately and making your own
