My semi auto Browning 1919a4 at the range today... Pic of group size posted!

Wow!.
Looks to be 9 or 10 rounds inside 3MOA. Fantastic. What a piece of kit you've got there Jay. Congratulations.
And, such a hoot they are to shoot, eh?.
The A4 that I ripped with had spade grips, an EOtech, cloth belt and handloads.
The owner happens to be a very generous man with the ammo can too. :D
A locked down tripod sure does change things up a bit though.
We dug 'er in, lined 'er up, and locked 'er down on a 12"dia. rock, that was sitting there minding it's own business, 230 yards out.

A second's worth of alternate L/R thumbing .... no more rock ... just a massive cloud of airborne granite dust.
Didn't even glance through the sight while the lead was flying.

I don't think I could afford the ammo belts for one of these, let alone the gun itself. I must say, I am jelous of your gorgeous firearm

Optics / iron sights not for me . I just point & shoot .:D

5 round belt as per game laws? Is this new for 2013? I didn't think Ontario had round limits except for shotguns, all other firearms used for hunting must meet Federal laws. Stated in the hunting regs. it says under the Criminal Code of Canada you cannot possess any clip/magazine that holds any more than 5 rounds unless that clip/mag has been specifically exempted pursuant to the Firearms Regulations.

A 250 round belt would be very cumbersome hunting but then again so would a 1919 LOL. Much fun though!

Looking at the photo of the spade grips, I see how the trigger linkage works. Wouldn't be all that hard to make up a set, starting with a regular backplate.
For field use, I wonder if an Israeli A6 type rig might not be the way to go.

Incidentally, it seems that when I visited 1919A4.com recently, there was an attempt to download something that my security program didn't like. The site was down a few days ago, maybe there is a problem.

I think perhaps a platform stand might be a bit easier than a tree stand, unless the tree stand is more of a tree house. Although a post for the pintle could be incorporated into the stand..... A platform stand, with a post dead center, 360 degrees of coverage.....
Of course, a real man would carry one for dogging.

What say you ^, Jay?.

Me?, am 'gonna stifle the gob right about now.
Do not wish to inhibit a potential mod-humour-fest.

In preparation for next years deer hunt...

My wife makes me;
(1) lift the gun from the ground & over my head at least 50 times a day...
(2) carry it up & down the stairs to the bathroom every time I have to 'go', and that's lots 'cause I'm old...

Ha ha ha

Cheers
Jay

There you 'go', .... thirty-five lbs. of ordnance steel ... cradled "one armed push up" style over the porcelain every few minutes .... gonna be giving ya some serious pleasure to be p*ss'n emptyhanded off 'o the stand, come fall.

Yer woman is a genious. ;)
