My sr 22 has been my baby and addiction for the past 2 years. I have dumped a lot of cash into this thing changing this, trying that, but I have constantly made the age old mistake of oh it's just a .22 airsoft parts will work. NO!! They don't. Some times you get away with a few things. Grips, vertical grips etc. But when it came to sights I've been burned twice. Element troy sights were wobbly as all hell and the front sight, although solid would cant it self to the left when tightened down. My magpul pts I ordered from eBay (hongkong knock off apparently) looked okay but the front sight post is polymer and when I tried to adjust elevation I just tore the damn thing up. It was adhered to the body of the sight. I replaced the post with metal one and it worked, but I still didn't care for it. I wanted to try diopter sights like on an hk 416. I didn't mind the lower height but found there was more play in the rear then necessary and the rear sight was heavy.

I now have a KAC rear micro I got from ebay on my rifle. The thing is solid and is the real deal. I like the ability to Zero the sight and then change elevation. Zero it on Z and then play around with it to figure out my distances for the .22 40grain bullets. I have a UTG lower profile front sight on my gun now, but was thinking of putting troy folding front sight. When I mention this to my wife she surprised me by saying "I don't get upset when you buy the good stuff, it's when you waste 20-30 dollars here and there on that cheap SH@T and then are still not happy is what upsets me." In turn I'm finally going to buy a decent front sight. I'm just not sure where to get troy sights, seems like everyone is sold out. I'd like m4 wing style front black sight. I've read about people having trouble with the hk style front sights. The eye puts the circle in the circle and doesn't focus on the front sight post or something like that.

If any one knows where to find some a troy m4 folding front sight in Canada please let me know.

Oh and I finally figured out how to post photos lol

If you wondering about the gaps in the FDE ladder rail cover one is for my bushnell trs 25 and the other is a reference point for my thumb. The recessed portion where the screw hole is the perfect place for my thumb. I get a high grip on the gun and I can do hammer pairs and get close to controlled pair results.

Also I didn't learn my lesson on the airsoft gear. lol I won a eotech zombie stopper clone yesterday on ebay lol. If it doesnt work well enough for a .22 i'm out 60 bucks and it's just going on my mp5 airsoft gun so no lose lol.

Probably one of the best looking Sr-22s out there. I can tell you shoot your gun more than you show it off. Have a look at the DD front sight, theyre usually instock at OSTS and Wolverine and theyre not expensive at all.

What brand is that magazine?
promag 9-22 with out the 5.56 shell cover. They work well after broken in. But I find you cant seat them right unless your bolt is locked to the rear. Or you get the gun up infront of you tilt it, semi seat the mag and rack the charging handle it will seat it self. There is no play like the butler creeks

Thanks for the complement. Guns are meant to be used, but she still has to look ###y. lol Yeah i've looked at the DD front fixed sight they're pretty sweet. At the same time I looked at the troy fixed front in HK hooded version. I was on an HK kick for a while. lol The DD are nice but not exactly what i'm looking for. OSTS carry KAC gear aswell. I payed half that for my rear sight on ebay, no affence to OSTS their prices are on par with every one else. starting to think my sight might have fallen of a truck to be collected by an opportunist and then sold on ebay. I heard a few rumors about some of those KAC USMC stamped sights, I like to believe they were surplus.

Also thanks a lot supernova you made me look at that umbrella corp grip again, now i'm gonna have to buy one and it's all your fault. Dont try to talk your self out of this one, when my wife finds out i bought another grip when the tango down one i ordered isnt even in yet she's not gonna be happy... with you. I'm blaming you, please take one for the team lol. Maybe I can tell her "It's not mine I'm just holding it for a friend." lol

Which rails are those, and where did you get them?

Thanx,
Kirk

Top rail and quarter side rails are dlask. www.dlaskarms.com

I have bought there full rail package come with 4 full rails. Didn't care for the extra weight. i also bought 3 half rails and 2 quarter. I now run a top full rail and a quarter rail on each side. They act as a hand stop so I get a consistent hold on the gun.

also i tried using a small magpul rail with one screw it worked but after a while the tension i put on it ripped the treads out of the hole

Oh she's ###y alright. Just not in the all dressed up to look pretty way. I like that its only got what it needs rather than a full rail kit and more accessories than a teenager. But if I have to deal with one more pissed off woman right now I'm going to lose it! I'm happily single but I've got to deal with everyone's emotional better halves it seems. I hate being dependable... Tell her you couldn't decide and you're going to sell the one you don't like. Too many recommendations for both or something like that. :D

lmao She doesn't usually get mad she just shakes her head. I don't smoke and I hardly ever drink. Guns are my addiction and is far less expensive far as I'm concerned. The beaver tail back strap on the umbrella corp grip might be a problem. I pretty well destroyed my MIAD beavertail back strap with a dremel to get it to fit. It also opens new questions of whether to stipple or not.
