My sr 22 has been my baby and addiction for the past 2 years. I have dumped a lot of cash into this thing changing this, trying that, but I have constantly made the age old mistake of oh it's just a .22 airsoft parts will work. NO!! They don't. Some times you get away with a few things. Grips, vertical grips etc. But when it came to sights I've been burned twice. Element troy sights were wobbly as all hell and the front sight, although solid would cant it self to the left when tightened down. My magpul pts I ordered from eBay (hongkong knock off apparently) looked okay but the front sight post is polymer and when I tried to adjust elevation I just tore the damn thing up. It was adhered to the body of the sight. I replaced the post with metal one and it worked, but I still didn't care for it. I wanted to try diopter sights like on an hk 416. I didn't mind the lower height but found there was more play in the rear then necessary and the rear sight was heavy.
I now have a KAC rear micro I got from ebay on my rifle. The thing is solid and is the real deal. I like the ability to Zero the sight and then change elevation. Zero it on Z and then play around with it to figure out my distances for the .22 40grain bullets. I have a UTG lower profile front sight on my gun now, but was thinking of putting troy folding front sight. When I mention this to my wife she surprised me by saying "I don't get upset when you buy the good stuff, it's when you waste 20-30 dollars here and there on that cheap SH@T and then are still not happy is what upsets me." In turn I'm finally going to buy a decent front sight. I'm just not sure where to get troy sights, seems like everyone is sold out. I'd like m4 wing style front black sight. I've read about people having trouble with the hk style front sights. The eye puts the circle in the circle and doesn't focus on the front sight post or something like that.
If any one knows where to find some a troy m4 folding front sight in Canada please let me know.
Oh and I finally figured out how to post photos lol
If you wondering about the gaps in the FDE ladder rail cover one is for my bushnell trs 25 and the other is a reference point for my thumb. The recessed portion where the screw hole is the perfect place for my thumb. I get a high grip on the gun and I can do hammer pairs and get close to controlled pair results.
Also I didn't learn my lesson on the airsoft gear. lol I won a eotech zombie stopper clone yesterday on ebay lol. If it doesnt work well enough for a .22 i'm out 60 bucks and it's just going on my mp5 airsoft gun so no lose lol.
